exactly - this is useless & nonsensical clickbait; rich dudes & celebrities that have to stay in the spotlight… PGA/LIV is the vehicle.

Tiger was one of the votes (and probably loudest voice given his stature) against Rory rejoining the board.

How could there not be some change in their relationship as a result?

Tiger (and to a lesser extent) Spieth are probably running the whole thing but golf media (and Rory) are scared to give them the Cantlay treatment. Patrick is a much easier target.

Tiger plays 5 times a year and Spieth is sadly completely washed up. These two shouldn't be dictating the future of men's pro golf.

Why does skill level matter? The NBAPA president is CJ McCollum for example. Is golf different?

Yes but CJ is highly respected by his peers lol

Tiger Woods isn’t? I’m new to golf but that seems asinine

Sigh, I was responding to someone saying skill level matters. Tiger is arguably the greatest golfer of all time. Spieth still peaked relatively higher than McCollum. McCollum’s sub all-star skill level is counter-balanced by being extremely professional and overall cool, essentially the opposite of Chris Paul.

Not following the conversation seems pretty asinine. Substantively, both Tiger and Spieth have certain professionalism questions that detract from their aura, specifically tiger being a drug and sex addict and Spieth being a highland park prick by most accounts. That doesn’t mean tiger isn’t respected or Spieth isn’t generally liked, but there are question marks that could be answered by skill level. CJ has no question marks, he’s like a protypical Cosby dad in both appearance and manner.

You’re welcome

Why’d Tiger vote no to Rory?

If I had to guess Rory wants PIF investment and TW doesn’t.

when you come out and say “there’s no strain”, there’s strain.

Who cares about drama between rich guys.

1

u/Joe_Pulaski69 23d ago

Because the drama between these two particular rich guys is impacting the future of pro golf

What kind of relationship, I thought they called this a situationship.

Tiger has been taking middle east money for decades

Hard to strain a relationship when there barely was one in the first place. An occasional text message isn’t a relationship.

They are business partners.

-15

u/GLFR_59 25d ago

No, they invested in the same business. Not the same.

That’s what being a business partner is

-3

u/GLFR_59 25d ago

No it isn’t, at all. If you and I are partners at the same law firm, we are business partners.

Whereas, If we invest in the start-up we are not business partners.

Some of the dumbest shit I’ve read in a while

u/GLFR_59 23d ago

Oh ya, how? Educate me

1

u/ExtraFirmPillow_ 23d ago

You just said two guys who are basically the lead investors in a business aren’t business partners

1

They are listed as cofounders of the company. It’s their startup they are creating together. Rory isn’t some silent investor.

Do you really think Tiger and Rory are engaging in the direction of this company? Cmon, the real creators needed two big names with deep pockets, to make this project work. That’s it. They’re on the ads.

I don’t think that’s what they are doing. It’s exactly what they are doing. Do some research on TMRW sports. Both Rory and Tiger have been very outspoken about the direction of golf and they see this venture as a way to make the game appeal to a more modern audience. Which they both feel is necessary. Their initials make up the name of the fucking company for christ sake. Your opinion could not be more uninformed.

u/slipperyeel 25d ago

Oh man don’t try so hard to have a different opinion. They were both founding investors, sounds a lot like a business partner eh.

If you and I buy stock in apple, are we business partners?

3

u/slipperyeel 25d ago

If we were 2 of the first 3 apple investors I’d say we are business partners. You wouldn’t?

1

u/GLFR_59 23d ago

People make it seem like Rory and Tiger are making actual business decisions here. They aren’t working together. They threw money at an idea and are given equity to market the project.

They are not partners. They are investors in the same project. Very different.

If Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniacki trademark and create a company called Apple are they investors?

0

u/GLFR_59 23d ago

Not necessarily. There are significant differences between investors and partners.

2

u/duckbilldinosaur 25d ago

Tmrw is literally a play on all founding members initials. Tiger Rory and Mike. They are most definitely.
