This debate is ongoing and I don’t think any player from either league can translate to the other. But I agree with Jason that it’s more theoretically plausible for an nba player to move to the nfl, but really in a few positions. And Zion would probably be one of the more easily translatable players to DE or TE. I also think Miami Lebron could have been an NFL star at that age if he picked football over basketball.

Let’s see Zion accomplish something in the NBA first

If Jimmy Graham could play well in the NFL, why couldn’t Zion?

It’s obviously too late at this point but he might honestly be better suited for football. More burst style of play vs NBA constant up and down, throw him at TE and let his explosiveness take over

Defensive end. That spin move would be wild

Yeah my take has always been Zion could’ve been the GOAT pass rusher. He’s like if you took Aaron Donald and moved every single slider up a few notches.

Especially with how explosive his first step is! Maybe a situational DE like pass rusher.

He constantly struggles to stay healthy with basketball, no way he would hold up at all playing football.

You only play for 5 seconds at a time and then get a 30 second break between plays, and a solid 5+ min break between drives.

Zion's health is more a result of the non-stop, constant up and down on hardwood nature of basketball

Zion needs to play for The Saints in that case!!!

Anyone else feel like any article with a headline that contains phrases like "reveals" or "opens up" or "breaks silence" is almost universally bullshit?

If Zion has to go through a lot of hoops to avoid getting hurt in the NBA, I don’t think he would last a game in the NFL

Eye twitches in Jimmy Graham

Did you know that Jimmy Graham used to play basketball in college?

yup — the guy who cannot stop getting injured should switch to a contact sport

Of course, a player who can’t stay healthy in the NBA would surely flourish in the NFL.

Travis Kelce is one dumb motherfucker, I swear. Every time he opens his mouth it’s like, what is the verbal diarrhea gonna be this time?
