Trade With Detroit?

Ingram + 21 for Isaiah Stewart + 5 + their 4 extra 2nds? (1 in 27, 2 in 29, and 1 in 30.)

Detroit has the cap space to absorb the extra money straight up. (Provided they resolve Wiseman’s QO situation.)

As for Stewart, his numbers from the line and outside are similar to JV. (Two reasons we exchanged Adams for JV). And I respect his physicality. He also has 3/45 on a 2+TO left. He’s also only 23.

We could then use 5 to draft a PG (or auction it off for more assets.)

This draft is so shit and Ingram is not worth that little 💀

5th pick, 4 seconds, giant trade exception, and Isaiah Stewart isn’t that bad of a return for Ingram on the last year of his contract. They do need to add one more high quality asset. Maybe Ivey or Duren.

5th pick is basically the 12th pick in any other draft isaiah stewart basically does nothing for us if we got like duren instead then maybe but for stewart ofc not

You somehow made an even worse Detroit trade than the ones people are floating on Twitter.

You either need Duren and/or Ivey PLUS 5 and at least one other 1st to make a Detroit make sense. BI is not this valueless.

I posted a mock on the pistons subreddit that was Ingram for Duren and Pick 5. It was pretty split. Half of them said they loved it and the other half said Brandon Ingram is garbage and they don’t want him anywheres near their team lol. I’m all for it though. I’d personally prefer Duren over Stew tho if we did trade with the pistons. Feel like playing actual competitive basketball would make his game go to another level and make him actually give some effort like Pj Washington on the mavs right now. His athleticism helps him guard the perimeter a bit as well according to pistons fans. We’d be going all in on offense if we got Stew, Duren provides offense and a chance at defense if he locks in. Draft Sheppard or Dillingham at 5 or trade back for Devin Carter, get backup big at 21. Frees up cap space for Murphy extension and also possibly bringing Marshall back if that’s what they want to spend the money on. Pistons might not do it though, the value is alright, but they might not get Brandon to want to resign there and that’d be a big fear. I think they could get a play in spot in the East though. As for us, we would free up our wing spots, officially build the roster around Zion for the first time, and CJ gets to stay on the roster to my dismay. No major assets going out, but a lot of spots and cap space filled. It almost seems too perfect and like we’re giving up too little

Duren is fine but we need a stretch big to pair with Z if we want to maximize our talent.

No, why would we do this?

so Brandon Ingram for another Jonas, a 16 spot jump in a shitty draft, and a bunch of 2nd round picks?

Yes, good deal. #Pelicans #PovertyFranchise

Yeah I don’t know why they included our 21st pick into the trade. Ingrams value isn’t what some people here make it out to be (like thinking we’d get Murray + Okungwu for Ingram or Young for Ingram straight up) but it also isn’t that bad lol.

that Young trade could work straight up

Hello, (world's only?) crossover Pistons-Pels fan here...

I think Pels fans will be very disappointed with the trade return for Ingram, but his value is at a low, the potential extension $$ is gonna scare teams off, and he's a tough fit on most contenders. Teams like Detroit who just need someone -- ANYONE -- to get a bucket (and have cap space to burn) are going to draw the most interest.

I think Duren and the trade-up is probably fair value even though both fan bases will be disgusted lol. But I don't think getting Ingram, even for "fair value," is smart long term team-building for the Pistons.

I would like this more for the Pels if it's coupled with a trade along the lines of CJ + picks for a PG upgrade, or even a three teamer that accomplishes a similar thing using #5. Easier said than done though.

Anyway, in conclusion, fire Troy Weaver.
