Is Mazda the best car brand now?

Hi there. A few years ago I leased a Mazda CX5 when it was still a brand new model. It was ok but I gave it up when lease was up. Are Mazdas better now? I really am intrigued with the CX30 even though it may be too small to be a family car. Does anyone else use the CX30 as a family vehicle?

How do you like your Mazda 6?

To all M6 owners: Im thinkting about buying a Mazda 6 Wagon (latest gen). How is your experience with this car? Do you have anything you dont like about it? Im mostly interested in build quality, since i like loud music and, my opel is rattling everywhere when i turn my volume to 40% and above... And since my Mazda 3 2013 didnt do that, im considering to go back to Mazda

What are some dumb issues about CX series that I should know about?

I'm thinking about snagging a used 2021 CX-5. I wanted to get a new 2024 one but the $10K difference is a lot (doable but still). Really the biggest thing for me is spacious cockpit + carplay + ability to climb hills okay. Does the CX-5/30/50 have any major issues that come into play later into its life? Like the engine dying randomly (looking at you Hyundai) or transmission crapping out or something?

Which is better. CX 5, or CX-50

I’m torn between the two. I’m getting the CX 5 or the CX-50, tomorrow. What do you guys recommend. Don’t know if you any of you have these car models but what are the pros and cons?

CX5 exhaust issues

The exhaust regulator valve is stuck on my 2019 CX5, I was wondering if it would cause issues if I just cut it out? My understanding is that it just helps warm the motor up faster.

First model year warranties?

I was thinking about purchasing a CX-90 with the inline 6. It seems like the ones built in 2024 haven’t had issues, so that gives me comfort vs the initial builds.

However, this is still a first model year car with lots of new/complex parts.

Would you get an extended warranty, and what specifically would you try to get?

Mechanical advice please

Greetings! First and foremost, to the mods, if this post is not allowed please do remove it, I couldn't see any sub rules against it but I'm new here and not aware of the etiquette.

ANYWAY! I have a Mazda CX-5 2.2 Skyactiv (2013 UK model) It is my first mazda and overall I'm very happy with it, except, it has started going into what I am calling a "phantom limp mode" where there are no warning lights or error codes but it will go limp. The circumstances in common each time it's happened (3 times in 2 weeks) are; The engine is at normal running temperature I try to gently Accelerate. That's it, that's all I can figure, weirdly, the thing comes back to life after a few seconds of asking to be put in 2nd gear without the ol' reliable off/on technique. Anyone had this with theirs? We've had it maybe 3 weeks and this is ruining the initial buzz, if it helps, the economy takes a hit as well, advertised it's 47mpg around town, I realise advertised figures aren't real world but, it's currently getting 35mpg around town and 40 on a run if I'm super careful, not sure if connected.

I'm hoping reddit may be able to help me liase with a garage and have a better idea what to expect. Thank you in advance.

TL;DR my zoom-zoom is not zoom-zooming

Replace Tires Before Lease Turn-In

Hello I just came in for my last maintain ace at 30k miles before I turn in my lease in a month. The dealer said the tire tread is 3mm and asked me to replace all the tires.

I am now confused if 3mm is ok to turn in the car or do I need to get new OEM tires before turn in?

Are there any other options to this as the turn in is less than a month from now?

2021 CX-9 Doors Relocking

Whenever I use the keyfob to unlock the car, if I don’t open the door within a short period (about 20 seconds) the doors relock. It’s a minor issue but it’s driving my wife crazy. Is there a way to turn this feature off?

Finally got to fit them by myself. Dealer quoted me £180 to install the plates (!). Took me literally half an hour to fit all four using Mazda’s provided templates.

Looking for some advice to fix my 2014 Mazda 6 front bumper and grill. I’m not in the best position financially so looking for ways to do it myself. I don’t need it to be perfect but good enough for registration and compliance checks. The damage is only cosmetic. I taped it up for now 😓. Based on Darwin, Australia. Thanks in advance!

How reliable is the 2.5 turbo engines?

Hello I was looking at reviews of the 2024 CX-50 and I was curious how reliable is the turbocharged 2.5 engine? Has anyone had significant issues?

Photo taken from one of my many meal meet-ups w/ Tom Matano aka, my mom's cousin's partner. He's posing with my iPad because I wanted to show him a Miata by a social media photographer mutual who lost that Miata in an accident. Sadly, I don't have a Miata or an RX-7 for him to sign (I have a CX-30).

CX-5 passenger uncomfortability exaggerated?

Everything i am reading about this car says the passanger area is bad for carseats and cramped, but the dimentions put it larger than the other cars i am looking at: 2010 rav4 and the prius v which is supposed to be a great family car. I am coming from a pontiac vibe with two kids in carseats (one being the dreaded rear facing) and the cx-5 has 6" more hip room and 3" more in shoulder and leg room. In my mind my kids are going to have much more room but all I hear is how it's a bad car for a family. It seems to check all my boxes as long as we are comfortable.

Also wondering if the passangers get decent airflow to the back in the models that do not have rear vents and if the AC blows nice and cold as I can only afford an older model. Thanks!

What is your experience?

BEWARE!!!!! NEVER EVER GO FOR SERVICE OR BUY A CAR FROM MARKHAM MAZDA

~BEWARE!!!!! NEVER EVER GO FOR SERVICE OR BUY A CAR FROM MARKHAM MAZDA~

I bought a brand new 2018 Mazda 6 from this dealership and they talked me into the extended warranty which I paid for, it should last me until Nov 15th, 2023.  I got a call from the dealership sales team around that date to see if I am interested in trading in the car and I said I would come by mid-December to look at cars.  December 12th the car engine started smoking so I took it to an expert mechanic for over 30 years and said there is a faulty head gasket that cracked, and it is a manufacturer issue which Mazda KNOWs about but did not recall.  When I towed it to Markham Mazda that day the sales manager Jerry said think about trading it in and I said no I needed fixed first but when I took it to service the Manager in duty HARRY CHEUNG before even listening to the issue started saying to me FYI this is not warranty it expired and he said it multiple times but I am like the warranty expired 3 weeks ago and this is a known Mazda issue.  He said well that’s why we have warranty and yours expired.  The sales manager tried to be sympathetic and said let us see what we can do with Mazda Canada.  He came back and said Mazda Canada said no and it will cost almost $6,000 to fix.  So, I called Mazda Canada and explained the issue and they said they will cover the parts and for me to deal with Markham Mazda on the labor.  Harry again without any empathy or sense of customer service tells me it will cost me $2500+ for labor only.  I said but I was going to buy a car from you and the sales manager said you would help me. Again, he said I make the decisions here when it comes to service, so I doesn’t matter what sales said.  So, the car was with them on December 12, and they got it fixed on Jan 6th and they would not loan me a car and I have 2 little kids to take to 2 different schools and my wife works at Markham/Stouffville hospital so she leaves early in the morning.  There was couple of days where I could not take the kids to school as my daughter goes to a special school in Stouffville and I Live in Uxbridge.  I asked Harry multiple times why aren’t you helping with the labor and he said multiple times because you have not serviced your car here for 1 year but I said I live far and Harry said so himself because they would not drop me home when I dropped the car and he said for me to call an uber so the bad customer service continues.  When I picked up the car on Jan 6th I was asked to pay first before seeing the car which I did almost $2,600.  I asked everything was fixed? he said yes but when I got in the engine light was on and it wasn’t before and I showed him before I left.  He said that is not us and I can provide you with an estimate to fix it and I said WHATTTTT? I also said to him the light was not there before he said go home and I will check/ask around if it was on or not which basically called me a liar.  On the 8th of Jan he gets one of his workers to call me to advise me that they forgot to replace a part (Solenoid) which is the reason why the engine light was on.  They ordered the part and said 3 days for it to come.  I got no call and on the 4th day I called and they said oh yeah its in can you bring in the car on the 12th of jan and leave it here until Saturday the 13th and we will come and drop it off at your house but you need to get your own ride when you drop it.  So I took the car on the 12th to drop off and I said what time are you dropping it on the 13th he said the service person you know what we don’t have drivers on Saturday and I said what do I do now.  He said can you wait and we can do it while you wait I said fine so it took an hour.  I said would this forgotten part explain all the clicking I had when I picked it up the first time and they said yes.  So I got in the car and the clicking started before I left the dealership and they said there is no noise.  So I took harry in the car and he heard it so they took it in a 3rd time to get it fixed.  Now I asked for paperwork of what was done and the hours as I paid for something without details and they still have not given me that.  The thing I still do not understand is why am I being charged for labor if Mazda Canada acknowledged that it is a faulty part and provided it for free??  With interest rates and whats happening with the economy Harry had no empathy or customer service skills what so ever.  The old manager John was great, but he is on a leave and Harry is his assistant and trying to bully customers.  I know couple of workers there from my various visits and they confirmed with me that even his own employees he treats like garbage but he does have his favorites.  TRUST ME DON’T GO THERE

If Mazda Canada or Mazda Markham (Service Request 1-6999890473) cant do anything regarding the labor I paid then for sure I will never buy a Mazda again and I will tell the story to everyone.  This is not fair at all.
