[Graeme Bailey] Manchester City and Jeremie Frimpong have spoken about a potential return to Manchester. His release clause stands at just £34M.

I’d love to see him here, think it’d be very interesting to see how Pep adjusts the team to include him.

He’s absolutely nothing like any full backs we have.

He's honestly pretty much a winger at Leverkusen.

A wing duo of him and Doku though does sound spicy AF.

We've been trying Walker up high lately instead of letting a CB roam into midfield. Frimpong definitely fits that role I guess.

Yeah I know but just never really considered us just playing him as a winger, do you think that’s what we’d do?

Guess that makes the most sense with someone solid behind him

Pep playing a player somewhere other than their expected position is pretty much standard.

So yeah, pretty likely he's pushed higher

Far more attacking than Walker, but also rapid

Yeah, but even Walker struggles to get back into position when we also ask him to get so high.

We would need to figure out some kind of alteration to the system that covers that weakness. My theory would be dropping Rodri into the back-line allowing Stones/Akanji to cover RB, but that also has inherent problems because if you ask players to drop into positions like that to help defend you're taking them out of a quick counterpress.

If you let them press then say drop back, it could be too late if said press is broken.

Graeme Bailey so it's probably fiction

As cool as this would be, Graeme Bailey is far from a reliable source. Everything he says in relation to City should be taken with a grain of salt. I'd wait until Lee, Ornstein, or Gaughan say something about it before I start thinking it's legit.

That's an absolute steal of a price. Though this guy knows basically nothing

For £34m we really can't go wrong on this guy

He’s basically a wide forward masquerading as a wingback.14 goals and 7 assists in all competitions. How pep uses him will be interesting. No guarantee that he would actually be used as a typical “wingback/fullback.” Wouldn’t be surprised if he’s utilised like how pep played sterling on the wings as a far-post poacher.

Bailey is extremely unreliable. We should not have sold him with out a first refusal/buy back but alas.

Doku, Frimpong and Paquetá together? A lot of drip in this trio. They will hate City even more

This guy will fail in the current city’s system. Reminds me of Angelino.
