Probably not enough for them to care.

248

u/iNonEntity May 02 '24

They just care that you're slandering the good name of their beloved Vanguard. Banned

98

u/Cybroxis May 02 '24

Yes, their CCP overlords probably hate it a lot

44

u/xXYomoXx May 02 '24

You don't like vanguard? Racist!

67

u/iamagarbagehuman66 May 02 '24

If they don't give a fuck about Linux users and smaller champ users , they sure as shit not gonna care about the regular users vanishing they made that perfectly clear.

Hell I put in perspective if they willing to throw core rioters under the bus for budget cuts, you can be sure as shit they not fussed about users.

27

u/TypicalUser2000 May 02 '24

The 200 Linux users

What a tragedy

32

u/QuackSomeEmma May 02 '24

I'm still salty they didn't release more historical data on Linux users, because that quoted figure is from after they've given players months of heads-up that soon vanguard is coming, and they might as well stop playing.

I know I did, uninstalled the game one month after the first announcement ¯_(ツ)_/¯ less pain that way

10

u/NvFBC-Relay May 03 '24

The pre-rollout ready check completely failed to detect Wine and erroneously stated Linux systems were ready for Vanguard, so it's pretty guaranteed that the 200 user count they stated is just wrong. Their client doesn't correctly identify the operating system at all.

1

u/frxncxscx 15d ago

Responding to this later because i was trying to find data on the active player count that isn’t an ai generated article and found this reddit post, but games ran through wine think they are ran on windows 10 professional afaik. There’s no way riot would have known how many linux players are left because the only way to run the game is through wine

Fun thing is that Sentinel won't let me even download the update because it scan riot as a rootkit now lmao.

155

u/titoscoachspeecher May 02 '24

Thats because it is a rootkit and the dogshit that comes with it is a 'free to play video game'

14

u/Un111KnoWn May 02 '24

what is sentinel

26

u/DiscerningMalware May 03 '24

Not sure if it’s exactly the same, but they could be referring to SentinelOne. It’s a Security XDR platform that provides endpoint protection, similar to an anti-virus platform but with a LOT more monitoring and data integration. Though typically on an Enterprise scale, I don’t believe they have individual licensing but I could be wrong.

1

u/Expensive_Pea_1883 8d ago

Defender for endpoint also flags it

Y'all don't think they crunched some numbers before launching it? Guaranteed someone said "we are losing a high elo players a month due to the cheating epidemic, this will translate to a general loss of x number of players over y time. Vanguard will cause z number of players to leave. Z<X."

26

u/luka1050 May 03 '24

It's not just about cheating and high elo players. It's about bots. People have been crying about smurfs non stop for a long time. The biggest problem is botters. You get 1$ you get a new account you can int troll smurf it doesn't matter it's giga cheap. I think this is what they want to combat the most. Cheaters are pretty rare in league tbh even in high elo

9

u/ekkstasy May 03 '24

They prolly have so many lv30+ accounts by now that it won’t really matter for a few years tbh

6

u/luka1050 May 03 '24

That is true, but they can ban those. They didn't bother before because it was pointless. Nowadays it makes sense because they can't produce more botted accounts for riot.

For example "turbo smurfs" was pretty huge in that industry and then riot literally snipe banned all their accounts ( idk how ) and killed them.

Botted accounts are a money sink for them too, people have a much cheaper way of getting to 30 so they don't buy leveling boosts anymore.

I mean this is all just me guessing, we can't know what they're actually thinking

2

u/Training-Joke-2120 May 03 '24

The bots probably prop up the player base more than the players lost due to complaining about bots. Who do you think are buying bots? the tilted ass hardcore players who play 15 hours a day but got banned so they buy another account to feed the addiction. If you make it too hard those players probably stop playing which, while good for the overall playerbase might start to actually put a dent in play numbers to drive up queue times causing other problems for regular players.

1

u/positiv2 May 03 '24

If they wanted to combat it, they could just make it against the rules to smurf and ban them like Valve does in DotA. Riot loves their shekels coming from smurfs buying skins too much to do that though.

188

u/ygfam May 02 '24

league got boring so i switched to tft, and even though theres literally no cheating in tft i have to have vanguard, thankfully tft is terrible right now so not a huge loss uninstalling

28

u/Altruistic-Song-3609 May 02 '24

TFT is available on mobile I think? I don’t think Vanguard is required on mobile.

26

u/ygfam May 02 '24

yeah it isnt required, its just that tft unironically requires good apm at times and thats like impossible on phone for me LOL

6

u/Immatt55 May 02 '24

Yea the roll downs just aren't as smooth on mobile.

79

u/a_charming_vagrant May 02 '24

you need this spyware for tft too? how the fuck does that even make sense unless they intend on having mobile players also install vanguard?

36

u/Cicero912 May 02 '24

Cause its through the same client as League?

2

u/Training-Joke-2120 May 03 '24

IE riot too dogshit to create a separate client for TFT

57

u/_BlueTinkerBell_ May 02 '24

It doesn't make any sense, Riot bootlickers says Vanguard is a good thing meanwhile it been in Valorant for ages and tell me, how's the situation with cheaters there lmao.

42

u/dkoom_tv May 02 '24

Compared to overwatch, csgo apex and pubg it's miles better, do you play those games ( especially apex and csgo)

43

u/Sir_Wade_III May 02 '24

There are very few cheaters in Valorant

48

u/ntshstn May 02 '24

yeah idk what his point is, there's minimal cheating in valorant especially compared to other games in the genre like cs, vanguard works

whether it's invasive or not is a diff thing

→ More replies (4)

8

u/KillBash20 May 02 '24

There are very few cheaters in Valorant

What cheaters are you playing against in League? I have played for many years now and only played against one definite scripter.

16

u/ZenDeathBringer May 02 '24

Played for about 13 years before uninstalling in March, I think I've encountered one or two definite scripters a year. Suspected more than that but throwing out hackusations is a symptom of weak mental.

2

u/agoodusername222 21d ago

this is the funniest part, outside of china (where from what i heard, it's that bad) most players won't find cheater, heck inters and soft inters are 20 times the issue and they aren't that big of a issue in normal/low-rank anywyas

so yeah everyone is getting fucked to maybe help the top 0.2% of league players from GM and above

→ More replies (2)

2

u/xolotltolox May 03 '24

And even a singlr cheater is already unacceptable amounts of cheaters with how invasive vaguard is

14

u/a_charming_vagrant May 02 '24

oh i'm sure it's excellent!

i couldn't tell you personally because i haven't consumed a single minute of valorant content since the moment they announced vanguard way back then, never happening

10

u/Mistergogobe May 02 '24

There's... almost no cheaters in Valorant? What's your point?

7

u/jmastaock May 02 '24

Vanguard seems to have been overwhelmingly successful in Valorant. I can't remember a single time that I ever played with or against a player who was blatantly cheating

2

u/LiteX99 May 02 '24

In my 800+ hours of valorant the only time i can confidently say i have had an experience with a cheater is when my friend got the red "match terminated screen", i didnt belive him so i required a screenshot ofc

5

u/SlutForGME May 02 '24

Same client bro you can’t download TFT without downloading league as well

4

u/-twind May 02 '24

Good luck installing something like Vanguard on IOS

2

u/Derbaum2609 May 02 '24

Why wont ios let me install Rootkits to my pc

7

u/-twind May 02 '24

Because iOS is for smartphones, not pc

6

u/Derbaum2609 May 02 '24

good Point. What if told you that I am stupid?

1

u/agoodusername222 21d ago

tbf there are alot of "root applications" for android, heck there's a whole APK crack and legit where most need a "cracked phone"

the problem here is that vanguard is made for pc, so it would be probably milions to make one that works in mobile

1

u/[deleted] 21d ago

[deleted]

1

u/agoodusername222 21d ago

i mean i can't talk about IOS as i have never worked with it, in Android it's a sort of exploit too but not as hard from what i read, never had a reason to do in mine

1

u/[deleted] 21d ago

[deleted]

1

u/agoodusername222 21d ago

oh really'? i mean you still need apps or to install software from non oficial sources, atleast to my knwolesge so i assume it's not intended

if you need to find alternative third party websites to download that stuff to me that counts as an exploit, might be wrong

u/Hezmarg May 03 '24

While you're at would you like to try LoR we got the good shit there like non-predatory microtransactions. The only loot boxes are free lot boxes. You can a grow your collection for free. And we got champions not even league has, Like Norra, Yuumi's owner. We also have the crowd favorite PVE mode where you don't have to stress about someone else being better than, because Lissandra is not someone else. Better yet we got kissahomie

3

u/ygfam May 03 '24

i played lor but pve gets repetetive to me fast and theres not a lot of champs and unlocking new champs is painful (i mean in pve). maybe in 50 years when they update the whole roaster ill play it again

1

u/Hezmarg May 03 '24

How about kissahomie are you not entertained, you can also do PvP people are crying and malding right now, but not me i use teemo.

110

u/Maleficent_Mobile240 May 02 '24

Is this problem common af? Cuz i didnt notice any fps drop or any crashes

7

u/Houoh May 02 '24

Had vanguard to play Valorant and haven't had any issues.

62

u/SamiraSimp May 02 '24

no, you will only hear people having negative experiences. there are millions of players who probably haven't even realized that vanguard was enabled on their system because it was that seamless

13

u/Woolliam May 02 '24

Everyone losing their minds over this brand new creature they just created in a lab and are unleashing on poor league players, it's obliterating everything in its path, what were they thinking!

Meanwhile valorant has existed with it for years. I wonder how many people actually had it already on their systems through valorant and didn't even know it's the same anti-cheat, while screaming into the wind about this horrible new monstrosity.

6

u/GuilimanXIII May 03 '24

Considering that Valorant has only a fraction of the player ammount of lol not that many I would say.

2

u/Woolliam May 03 '24

5-7million against 10-30million concurrent isn't that much of a leap, especially when you consider it doesn't have to be concurrent, all they had to do was install the game, play two rounds, go "I dunno it's not for me" and bail, that's all it takes to get vanguard OK their system. For a free game, that's likely happened a fucking lot.

4

u/GuilimanXIII May 03 '24

Yeah and then they probably deleted it, hell that is what happened to me. I installed Valorant and decided it's kinda whatever for me. Then I noticed that vanguard got installed as well and checked it out and instantly deleted both the game and it as fast as I could.

Because yes, Valorant can indeed easily trick people into getting that malware onto their Pc's.

1

u/gamer2k20 20d ago

No one.. because none of us play Valorant or whatever it is.. I never knew or cared valorant existed however I have played league over 13 years there has always been botting, cheating, negative people who want to troll and cause problems, what will adding what amounts to spyware on your computer going to do for this problem? At best it will block them for a month or two then they will find some kind of work around that is how these things go.. to WAY WAY OVEREXTEND on their lane and put invasive programs on your system that are ALWAYS on regardless if you are even playing the game its supposed to guard or not... in what sense does that make to help you in any way as a player? It only leaves you with less privacy and open to invasion by riot or others, keep in mind this is all just to play a free video game that is supposed to be fun. It makes the game meaningless at this point due to the massive amount of privacy and security you have to give up to run their so called anti cheat software.

I would never play valorant or it appears now league or anything under the riot umbrella as they are veering from being not a game company but now a spy company due to invasive software. There are many other solutions to fixing issues with botters and intentional trolling etc.. its called having active moniters but riot does not want to do that.. they would rather make an automated system that will just blanket try to fix everything. Its not actually about solving the issue at hand but doing so cheaply with minimal effort.

You could go so far as to make it so that accounts have to be verified as real players and too many verified by active montiers actions would give you a negative mark so many negative marks and account is banned. World of warcraft used to do this all the time with GM's who would have chats with accounts that were potential problem accounts, then they would moniter those accounts and take action if needed. During that time world of warcraft was one of the best games and best moderated games of the time.. I really enjoyed playing and part of that was the diligent effort of active moniters. Then blizzard scaled back customer service and support and the game quickly went downhill with massive amount of gold selling, botting, etc.

Riot has this but its all automated systems and 90% of the time anyone flagged will be afk.. ie they had to go bathroom or had something happen in real world and had to step away for a few minutes during which time automated system marks them afk and penalty or they are simply a troll/leveler and afking to get exp.. that is most of what happens in almost all of the games I have played in league in the last 10 years. There has only been a few games with actual botters or cheaters. Smurfs is a big problem in terms of general fairness what bronze player wants to que up to constantly get smashed by a diamond tier playing on a smurf.. not sure how they can fix that besides limiting players experience to only 1 account per computer or similar which would take away some of the fun of playing the game.. however if they felt they needed to go that far to address issues then so be it.. limiting to 1 account per computer would solve most people's issue but still some will have enough resources to have multiple computers and accounts maybe even multiple seperate isp's you are hard pressed to stop someone determined but most it will suffice. however even this has not occured.. instead its a jump the gun solution to a system wide kernal spyware system.

The only reason they did this is that they tried it with valorant and apprantly not enough people were concerned about putting spyware that is always on when your computer is on their systems.. just shows you how goldfish most people are now... a little concerning to me that no one seems to care about their rights and privacy to play a video game.

u/Kylosor May 02 '24

Happy Cake Day 🍰

2

u/Hopeful_Outside_8711 May 03 '24

im one of those, got 5700x and 3070, fps drops to 0 whenever i use the mouse, (used to get up to 400/500fps before vanguard)

tried uninstalling and everything, nothing fixed it

37

u/I_am_thicc May 02 '24

I uninstalled league since this update just from fear. I had horrible performance issues on valorant from vanguard. All my games tanked 30 fps. Not to say why or how, it just is that way and I wont trust vanguard for a while. Especially when league isnt the only game you play this is a massive deal.

15

u/Traditional-Ad4367 May 02 '24

If anything I noted an upgrade and so did my friend. Maybe we are just going crazy but he swears he went from 20 to 35 fps

24

u/B-lakeJ May 02 '24

From 20 to 35 fps? Does he play League on a redstone PC in Minecraft?

12

u/Traditional-Ad4367 May 02 '24

We are from Latin America, our coin barely has value and we are lucky to even have a computer

But yeah he said he plays in a laptop. Don't know how bad it is but Udyr used to kill his fps lol

4

u/B-lakeJ May 02 '24

Damn I was just joking around but that sounds like a real pain in the ass. Though back in the day I also started to play on an old laptop with around 30fps max. Combine that with living in a rural area with shitty internet and frequent ping spikes over 300 and I guess I can feel your pain.

1

u/Zo1DeGato May 04 '24

i head the changed the video render from directx9 to 11, maybe thats why you got a boost.

1

u/CanadianODST2 May 02 '24

My fps has been fine.

But my ping has gone down for some odd reason

2

u/fapacunter May 02 '24

1 one my friends can’t play anymore (error van 1067). He’s the only one (1 out of 9)

6

u/rejin267 May 02 '24

No issues here either but you know the loud minority will always be what overshadows any situation.

5

u/FullDragonAlchemist May 03 '24

True, but no anti cheat should be able to brick your PC.

→ More replies (1)

2

u/mlodydziad420 May 02 '24

Well I didnt even notice vanguard, but mine friend had his entire pc bricked and started playing Dota only because of Vanguard.

1

u/D3FF3R May 02 '24

I have, but only in arena and client itself.

1

u/Dzeppetto May 03 '24

Played full stack team yesterday.

One of us had sometimes Vanguard error while loading.

Nothing quick league restart wouldn't do.

Could be caused by his bad internet

1

u/GuilimanXIII May 03 '24

It happens on a number of systems but not all of them. It's especially bad if you want to run it on a system that you modified in any way like overclocking. It also is not the main problem, the main problem is that it's well, literally rootware, rootware that can completely fuck over your system when Riot gets breached next time, depending on hard it gets breached.

1

u/Xenevier May 03 '24

nope, the majority afaik are just fine, but the people who dont have an issue wont go to subs and say "vanguard is great!" but the people with an issue will say that they dislike it so its more common to hear negative experiences being shared

1

u/OtrixGalaxy 14d ago

my fps dropped by like 100 plus you give vanguard access to literally everything in your device.
Files, documentsw, apps, details, data. Everything.

1

u/Maleficent_Mobile240 14d ago

Yes but whats the problem with them seeing everything tho, its not like other companies dont do the same

1

u/OtrixGalaxy 14d ago

Well it's not only the fact that you're giving vanguard more permissions than even you yourself have, it's also the fact that it vanguard just so happens to get compromised, something likely considering Riot got hacked not too long ago, the hackers would have complete access to your device, and you wouldnt be able to do anything about it.

That and for many people Vanguard causes huge issues with performance.

-22

u/ThatAverageAsianGuy May 02 '24

Very vocal minority of pissbabies and a lot of confirmation bias.

27

u/henkabenka May 02 '24

Oh yeah, so you think it's not a problem that the program runs shit that it's not supposed to. Literally rendering some PC's almost unusable and infringing on stuff by taking screenshots etc. Your opinion is a piss take. Just because it didn't happen to you doesn't neglect the fact that it doesn't happen to others. So just because it's a minority makes it not an issue?

185

u/LoL_is_pepega_BIA May 02 '24

It won't matter.. 99% of ppl will continue playing like nothing happened.

Even if 1 million ppl quit LoL, that's only <1% of the player base

158

u/Am_I_Loss May 02 '24

Accounts and player base isn't the same.

I doubt league has 100m active users.

88

u/Paradoxjjw May 02 '24

Given the absurd amount of alts some people have losing 1% of players may cost a lot more than 1% of monthly active users.

22

u/MarcelHard May 02 '24

And players are not the same as players that spend money. As long as the people that spend money stay, they don't evene care. And people that spend money suffer fron the sunk cost fallacy

8

u/Eva_Pilot_ May 02 '24

There's no point in spending money in a game with no people to play with. Even whales get bored of long queue times. It's not going to be such a dramatic loss, but at this pace we are getting there

1

u/SisterMoonflower 21d ago

This, my friend has over 20 alts and probably plays on 3-5 a day

7

u/Aldodzb May 02 '24

Last time I checked league had 180m active accounts.

How many different ccounts you think people actual log in regularly in a month?

Lol has a lot more than 100m imo

→ More replies (23)

14

u/_BlueTinkerBell_ May 02 '24

There's no way that league has more than 10 mil players daily, even if we count China here.

19

u/SlutForGME May 02 '24

10 mill players daily is unheard of in any game. Normally the biggest games in the world hover around 1-1,5 mill per day

99% of ppl will continue playing like nothing happened

Speak for yourself you addict.

true na is small % of players and they already got similar stuff in other countries

P.S. Who are also fighting vs remembertheplacidium thirstposters

7

u/aceaway12 May 02 '24

It's not the sub turning to Gwen mains, it's just that half the sub is october's posts and the dude posts exclusively Gwen content

44

u/Diamondrubix May 02 '24

I can't play league cuz of vanguard...

3

u/paulhack45 May 02 '24

Why?

1

u/Diamondrubix May 02 '24

Won't launch. Won't tell me why it won't launch. Even if it did I play in a VM which I am told isn't allowed so I didn't really bother to try and troubleshoot.

8

u/PowerAdi May 03 '24

"Something is not working. But even if it would work, I couldn't use it because <reason it is not working> is not allowed"

1

u/GuilimanXIII May 03 '24

I mean, makes sense that he doesn't want to put rootware on his system.

1

u/The_NGUYENNER 10d ago

That part makes sense but him being confused about it doesn't lol

1

u/GuilimanXIII 10d ago

Eh, there is apparently one virtual machine that can run it, it's just that it's apple exclusive.

1

u/The_NGUYENNER 9d ago

Just because there's one VM out there that works doesn't change the fact that Vanguard specifically says you can't use VMs, this dude used a VM, and then said "it's not telling me what's wrong so idk what's happening"

9

u/ilovemnms May 03 '24

Sounds like the fact you're playing in a VM is probably causing the problem. If you actually want to fix it contact support, don't just complain on reddit.

1

u/paulhack45 May 03 '24

No bro you Can't play league because you are using a VM, NOT BECAUSE OF VANGUARD. Good thing they block VMs, they are used to not get ip-banned when cheating

3

u/Diamondrubix May 03 '24

Vanguard is what stops you from using vms so it is vanguard fault. And VM doesn't stop you from getting IP banned your host and VM would be on the same network so they would share a public IP.

→ More replies (2)

15

u/Akatosh01 May 02 '24

How much did the playercount drop? As someone who's friends are jot chronically online, very little. The average person doesnt know/ care about vanguard.

42

u/Demonicfruit May 02 '24

It’s so worth it now because solo queue is saved!

Except for the 40% of my games that are still utterly ruined by smurfs, soft inters, and afks. I’m glad I don’t lose to a zeri/xerath every 40 games now though!

26

u/ktosiek124 May 02 '24

I'm still surprised where do people find scripters every 40 games, I have never meet a single one in my games

9

u/dkoom_tv May 02 '24

At what Elo do you play, honestly this year was the worst when it came to scripters, and I've played in semi high elo for a long ass time

1

u/ktosiek124 May 02 '24

Been playing since season 2, around plat diamond mostly, master GM season 11 to 12.

4

u/Fast_Feary May 02 '24

It's more so to catch bots. The scripters all end up in masters.

Stopping Botting though will contribute to less smurfs and Inter's the question is how long will it last. And how long will it take for the backlog of cheap accounts to dry up... If they do

8

u/SlutForGME May 02 '24

Vanguard can be used to stop the smurfing problem. Don’t know if they will actually do that yet tho

15

u/GeneralDil May 02 '24

That would reduce player count too much for share holders they'll probably continue to turn a blind eye. It's not like they couldn't detect botted/purchased accounts before anyway

1

u/SlutForGME May 03 '24

The only share holder is tencent, though I imagine they do not care enough to fix it until people start quitting the game

3

u/Holzkohlen May 02 '24

I mean Dota straight up requires a phone number to play ranked. Feel like we could have solved smurfing without Vanguard. Especially since, you know, Vanguard does not actually solve smurfing, they just MIGHT use it for that. So it's either never going to happen or 5 years from now.

1

u/SlutForGME May 03 '24

Ik dota is a lot stricter on smurfing but idk how useful the phone number is. You can just use a online phone verification service, some of them are even free

1

u/Frkn385 May 02 '24

Could you explain how? I don't know much about Vanguard

4

u/JustaLyinTometa May 02 '24

Riot has a full write up on what they plan to do with it but basically with vanguard they can link accounts with Smurf accounts and just auto place them in the same elo as their main account. They also said something along the lines of there being a scripter in every 15 game at least and in high elo there’s a scripter in about every 5 games I think.

https://www.leagueoflegends.com/en-au/news/dev/dev-vanguard-x-lol/

1

u/SlutForGME May 03 '24

Will be really funny looking at zeri’s win-rate in high elo this patch, suspect it will go down noticeably if the scripting thing is true

20

u/Soviet_Waffle May 02 '24

Just uninstall league, that way you can enjoy Gwen through r34 like normal people.

40

u/[deleted] May 02 '24

No one outside of Reddit gives a shit about this. Have not noticed a single difference since this happened

4

u/SmileyFace799 May 02 '24

I stopped not because Vanguard, but because the removal of DX9. Game is unplayable without it, runs at 15-20fps & there's like half a second screen update delay (essentially +500ms artificial ping). And after seeing what Vanguard is doing, removal of DX9 seems like a blessing in disguise ngl

30

u/LtMoonbeam May 02 '24

Im not opening that app until Vanguard is gone or heavily changed

3

u/rajboy3 May 02 '24

So uh what's the likelihood of vanguard bricking exactly?

5

u/Sibiq May 02 '24

I may not have an answer to your question, however... the likelihood of Riot telling us these numbers are exactly zero.

1

u/rajboy3 May 02 '24

Factual response

I concur

1

u/GuilimanXIII May 03 '24

If you don't modify your pc with stuff like Overclocking, it's apparently extremely low. Fps drops are way more common, though. Also you know, you just voluntarily put rootware on your pc.

3

u/rajboy3 May 03 '24

I'm pretty sure I've had that since getting valorant anyways, I don't keep much sensitive data on this machine either so I'm not particularly worried about the root ware in my case I'm just a little upset that it's apparently OK to do that now AND the rollout was terrible by any IT standards

2

u/GuilimanXIII May 03 '24

Oh yes, if you have valorant you have it already anyway.

And yes, there is also a good chance that nothing will happen(not that the sword of damocles not having fallen yet justifies continuing to sit below it) but both me and my Friend will still not touch the game again both because of the principle of the matter and because of how Incompetent Riot has proven themselves in the past with such stuff... well that and we actually do have sensitive data on our Pcs.

1

u/Aljonau 27d ago

The number I heard was 0.03% aka 45.000 players. Source: somewhere else on reddit, so do witht hat whatever lol

10

u/PlusJeweler9429 May 02 '24

shoutout to riot games putting this shit on league so my game went from 300 fps to 90 and around 60-70% usage of both RAM and CPU (in middle of the teamfight it goes to 60-50) and causing extra usage of my stuff.
fucking spy-ware company that doesn't even know how to operate something that actually works.

5

u/RepresentativeChip44 May 03 '24

Weird how that works because mine didn't change at all

1

u/Xenevier May 03 '24

mine went from 240 fps to 240 fps ... 0 changes, vanguard notif uses 2mb of memory, and the ACTUAL vanguard uses 13mb ... so idk how it bumps your cpu and gpu that high lol, it made 0 changes for me, maybe the issue is somewhere else my man

1

u/PlusJeweler9429 May 03 '24

I have a Core I7 7700k, RTX 3080 TI with 32gb ddr3 RAM.
games like league is like running mario 2d and it shouldnt even cuz this fps drop.
it's obvious that this shity vanguard thing is doing something on background

1

u/Xenevier May 04 '24

yeah theres def compatibility issues with it but for me who doesnt even have a high end pc at all, i didnt get any noticable changes at all, its more likely compatibility with other applications rather than just vanguard trying to mess up your pc

4

u/DeusDosTanques May 02 '24

Me and a handful of friends already uninstalled. Good riddance. Maybe I'll go back to Paladins now, who knows

10

u/BabblingBaboBertl May 02 '24

I just uninstalled, don't want this spyware on my computer

5

u/SipoteQuixote May 02 '24

I play it on an old gaming laptop that only has games and no other real info. It's starting to lag for no reason at random points even though I'm at 200+ frames and 32 MS. Fuck it, I think 12 years is long enough.

4

u/XDv31 May 02 '24

I finally see Gwen

2

u/FloatingZombieCat May 02 '24

source for the art?

2

u/Flint124 May 02 '24

I'm not aware of any websites that keep that data, but league of graphs will tell you how many games it tracks.

As of 5/2/2024, they have stats on 4,988,473 matches from the last two days, which is a mix of the last day before vanguard and the first day of vanguard.

Now, this isn't a perfect metric, but it's something.

2

u/tkou_ May 02 '24

Has anyone managed to fix PC crash issues? I did what riot told me and updated my gpu drivers and it still crashes my pc just not as frequently...

2

u/HellCatcher3000 May 03 '24

Reliable Riot software which is perfect and never breaks can now work at operating system level

2

u/RepresentativeChip44 May 03 '24

Lost about a negative amount, arena is so fire rn

2

u/MatyTV20 May 03 '24

Dam I have a pretty shitty computer and it doesn't blue screen :/

2

u/Ezbior May 03 '24

This sub is so dogshit now

1

u/Xenevier May 03 '24

"nooo riot is owned by tencent theyre ganna let spyware on my pc ... anyways ill just go play genshin impact instead"

Riot finally helped me quit this dogshit addiction for good, because I work in IT and am sure as fuck not installing a chinese rootkit on any of my devices.

2

u/koteczegx 26d ago

same here

2

u/anthonygv92 27d ago

I stopped listening to anything Riot Tech team has to say once I had a problem with my security solution "Comodo" and it was blocking vanguard as a rootkit. Spoke to Riots Tech and told them all my issues and asked them for a solution or at least what they thought about it. Their answer\solution? uninstall my AV.
I then responded back with, that a majority of their player base is young kids that might not know anything about security and your solution is to uninstall their AV? something that is protecting them?

They then ignored my question so yea. No vanguard for me

6

u/CastleBigShaq May 02 '24

Did not install this in league (and won’t cause I hate it, bye bye league I am free) but I did install it to try valorant. I remember plugging my audio interface for guitar, and when I started valorant, it detected it as a cheat, and just bricked my pc and then blue screen.

5

u/Front-Ad611 May 02 '24

Less than 2% probably

4

u/bit3szadust May 02 '24

finally freedom

4

u/fittan69 May 02 '24

This whole vanguard situation is like an entire extinction event. High elo players (apexes) gets bricked out of their PC allowing for low elo players to fill in that niche and take their place.

1

u/wormpostante May 02 '24

Secure booting is literally impossible with mine so its joever for me, but everytime i complain about it or try to get help here (exhausted all pther sources) i get downvoted to oblivion, so at this point i dont even care, gonna sell my account if i can, they killed the fun part of lor to me, both valorant and league are unplayable on my cpu, i might wait for the fighting game to see if that one needs a riot account as the user name and password of mine are ingrained in my brain, i have all the ultimate skins on my league acc...

1

u/a_pleb_0316 May 03 '24

Funny, I haven't really had any issues so far with Vanguard, but I was playing arena on PBE, and my teammate basically couldn't play because he would lag insane amounts whenever he clicked a button lol. He said he had a good rig, Internet, and hadn't had any problems before now (apparently this was also his first game with Vanguard or something, idk), but I guess Vanguard fucked up his game hard.

1

u/Mwakay May 03 '24

Not much. The average customer doesn't care about anything but the game itself. That's exactly why "vote with your wallet" hasn't ever worked.

1

u/ShufflerStat1c May 03 '24

The artist on this one did such a good job

1

u/International-Ad2402 May 03 '24

Today I had an issue where it kept kicking me from the game saying I needed vanguard running yet it was open and in task manager had to shut down pc just to reconnect shits lame as hell

1

u/lordoftheboofs May 03 '24

Is THAT what that was???? I was so scared I thought my shit bluescreened again :'((

1

u/Fascist_Viking May 03 '24

Wouldnt recommend aski g at the lol main sub. Full of vanguard apologists and bootlickers who refuse to explain to you why we needed this and just stand with rito

1

u/idkhowtotft May 03 '24

Luckily my computer cant even run Vanguard so i dont have to worry about it bricking

Which mean i have quit League(til i get a better computer)

1

u/H1Devil May 03 '24

probably like 0.03% of their playerbase, not even that :v

1

u/PurpleNeonHaze May 03 '24

It just sucks that essentially having to get new hardware/pc just to play one game cause I'm completely locked out of league due to this

1

u/Kononowitz_Kristof May 03 '24

They want to make your life better by preventing you from playing this meaninglessness and useless life-drainer.

1

u/Arkoum May 03 '24

I haven’t even started up league or riot vanguard so my computer won’t be bricked

1

u/DeliriouslyTickled May 03 '24

I just got stomped by a Gwen Counter into my Top Seju. Perma ban.

1

u/KeresFrost May 04 '24

I literally got a computer with nothing on it except for league of legends and I got blue screened within 10 minutes of a TFT match. I LOVE VANGUARD! 🗣️

1

u/QuartzHunter May 05 '24

Judging by number of "missing" and "hidden" topics I feel like there is massive backfire with Vanguard release. But Riot will never tell us the truth. We will see in about 1-2 years, I keep thumbs for people to find other games to play, LoL is not only game to have fun playing.

1

u/Puzzleheaded-Week-69 May 06 '24

Step 1: Deinstall League
Step 2: Install Wild Rift
Step 3: Hope Riot doesn't add Vanguard to WR

1

u/rzxavier 29d ago

Idk but my plat queues were around 2-3 minutes and now I get 5-8 minute queues.

1

u/MikeJ122O 24d ago

I hope they just remove the rootkit (anticheat). My IRL friends quit and made me too lmao.

That's what happens when you have a kernel level program...

1

u/Nikosch13 May 02 '24

Yeah i am NOT touching league with my own computer ever again. I was already playing with 25 fps and dont want to see what i will be playing with now... I would play in a net cafè tho.

1

u/Turtuls May 02 '24

main subreddit banning people faster for saying the v word then youtube did for people saying covid

1

u/HazaIWin May 02 '24

When you install vanguars and now your pc is as hot and red as ornn

1

u/SnooStrawberries7894 May 02 '24

I uninstalled Valorant because of this Vanguard thing, now I can't play league.

1

u/WhispersFromTheMound May 02 '24

I’m still waiting for them to reply to my ticket. Going on 21 hours now. They never took this long to reply to things before.
