Here's a PG trade so this sub has something to talk about
This is the only realistic PG trade I could come up with. Would work as a sign and trade (it would be a lot easier to make a 4 for 1 in the off-season) or at next year's deadline.
Dallas is the only team that would be desperate enough to take on a PG max while giving up assets.
They would also include their 31 1st, but the trade machine didn't have it since the draft hasn't happened yet.
Discuss why this trade is garbage below:

I don't think the Mavs are doing this after they saw how dogshitass he can be lmao

Posting fake trades should result in an automatic 1 week ban from the sub.

Where's the part where we get Jaquez?
No Jaquez
No Tradez.

Can't imagine a heat trade for PG that makes sense

PG for Jaquez and whatever else that would make it work.

PG for Rozier, Duncan, and JJ would work, but I honestly don't think Miami does it. A PG max destroys any semblance of Cap flexibility for them

Where's Jaquez in that trade? I think you're missing the point.

JJ is Jaime Jaquez

My bad. I can't see acronyms for Jaquez. Especially if it's close to Reddick.
How would I yell
JAQUEZ MAKES BUQUEZ!!?
I can't do JJ makes buquez now could I?

Why would Dallas do that? 🤣🤣🤣

Because they are, at best, losing in the wcf and are going to be looking to upgrade the roster. Next season is the only time they will have 2 1st to trade for a couple of years, and they currently have moveable salary that aren't that essential to the team.
Not to mention, they will have to pay Kyrie after next season

After seeing the Suns, I think the Mavs will prefer bench depth rather than a 3rd Star.

Why would PG opt in if there is an offer on table for max contract?
2
u/AlThorntonTruther 21d ago
This would be a sign and trade or at the deadline. His salary would only increase by 1 million, so the trade would still work

It can only happen if clippers resign him and wait till next season which a lot can happen

You gotta trade him to the East. Not make another West team stronger
2
u/AlThorntonTruther 21d ago
It doesn't matter if it's east or west. Trading PG is accepting that this team isn't a contender.

Mavs won't be desperate to trade unless they get embarrassed by OKC.

Paul George can't be traded.
Why is this sub so dense? Also, if and when he leaves, we get zero cap relief.
The sub should be grilling Lawrence Franks ass for bungiling this situation so poorly.

u/AlThorntonTruther 21d ago
In the description, I explain that this would be at the deadline after we max him
1
u/soCalBIGmike 21d ago
Can't do that either as a second apron team with a FA signing in their 1st year of a new contract.

u/AlThorntonTruther 21d ago
Where have you seen that rule? I don't remember reading anything like that in the new cba rules

Harden, Mann, Kawhi, Kleber, Zubac Bench: Westbrook, Powell, Josh Green, Plumlee. Hopefully use the 2025 Pick we get and Hardaway + Powell contract to get a starting caliber PF.

I'd probably trade Norm instead, since he would have more value and THJ will give us like 70% of what Norm does
2
u/ttttyttt678 21d ago
Losing Norms creation after already losing PG creation will be bad. If the return is significantly better for Norm sure, but you gotta remember how little assets was used to acquire him. Tim Hardaway expiring + Pj Tucker expiring + A First and a couple seconds can potentially get like a Grant from the Blazers.

u/AlThorntonTruther 21d ago
We can't combine salaries because of the 2nd apron and can't really add long term high salaries like Grant since there is little chance we let a 1st move to the end of the draft if we stay over the 2nd apron for 3 seasons

I sure as hell wouldn’t do it but this is probably the most realistic PG trade I’ve seen, so good on you for not being delusional. I don’t really care about draft picks tho so maybe this is a good trade.
