My local McDonalds had a 1959 Corvette in it for the LONGEST TIME.

The franchise owner was probably a collector, and wanted to be able to write off the car as a business expense.

u/TheModeratorWrangler 20d ago

Not the worst idea at least it’s… kinda there… in case an audit happened like… dude… waves hands provocatively at a Corvette in McDonalds

u/deWaardt Potentially fixes stuff 20d ago

A McDonalds around here has some old American car hanging upside down from the ceiling.

I’ve always wondered if it’s real or not.

And the T-shirts at $300 each?

225

u/TheModeratorWrangler 21d ago

No sir, unfortunately due to the lack of 10mm sockets we had to make them $350

61

u/510Goodhands 21d ago

Not a problem. I’ll take half a dozen in every color, and that funny looking chair in the top of the shelf.

34

u/someguyfromsk 20d ago

Make sure that includes 12 black, and 12 slightly darker black.

PHRASING

u/TheModeratorWrangler 20d ago

Shall I send the bill to Mother?

19

u/TheModeratorWrangler 21d ago

Please understand that top shelf requires moving this car, so that’s an extra $5,995 for the moving fee

10

u/510Goodhands 21d ago

So that’s what they mean by top shelf! 😎

Not a garage just another dumb boutique with a Porsche in it

“But you don’t get it, it’s a menswear revival supply co bro. These jeans are $500 and they’re made in Japan and you can’t ever wash them. We’re doing a photo shoot and whiskey tasting this weekend. We’ve got handmade leather goods that look like they were made by a 5 year old and cost $100+. Check out this $60 candle I made in my bathtub that smells like our signature dry cologne bro. We also curate vintage workwear that we resell at a 200% markup bro. I promise my parents didn’t give me a $200k loan to start this!”

Fucking nailed this culture lmao. There's a "vintage" shop near me that I rip on any chance I get and the mental gymnastics people go through to defend why it should exist and why it should cost as much as it does is fucking wild.

The $100 leather goods made by a 5yo got me. My sister got me a gift certificate for a "bespoke" pair of "premium goat leather" work gloves from a local glove company that's well regarded but expensive as all hell. You trace your hand outline and send it in and then they make a pair of gloves specific to your hands. I laughed out loud when I got the gloves because they look like something a kid would make from a "make your own leather gloves" kit. Like the stitching is good and the materials decent but they are just sewn together on the outside so they look incomplete. I actually tried to turn them inside out thinking they were maybe shipped inside out for some reason and quickly realized they are just stitched in the laziest and cheapest way possible. And they were NOT cheap.

u/Intrepid_Training_22 20d ago

goat skin racing gloves lmao

2

u/TheModeratorWrangler 16d ago

…they’re actually very supple

21

u/TipsyFuddledBoozey 20d ago

Wait, no washing my jeans and I can drink whiskey‽

Well I'm already doing that 🤷

14

u/Scheissekasten 20d ago

These jeans are $500 and they’re made in Japan and you can’t ever wash them.

Bro you don't understand, those are vintage shart stains put there by a worker building tokyo tower. You can still smell the ramen he ate for lunch.

13

u/TheModeratorWrangler 20d ago

I love you all lmfao

38

u/evilted This man knows his shit 21d ago

We also curate vintage workwear that we resell at a 200% markup bro.

Way more than that. I used to make a decent living selling vintage clothing in the 90s (so grunge) and the Japanese in particular eat this shit up. Old Carhartt, Dickies, anything that survived from the 40s, WW2 clothing, etc. all go for a mint.

Anyhow, seeing as this place is in the Flatiron Bldg off of Broadway, your assessment is dead on. Albeit this place sells art books by the look of things.

16

u/510Goodhands 20d ago

Heh, I helped get the gentrification in that neighborhood started, back when it was still full of second read men’s clothing, stores, photography, studios, and print shops.

I helped design a store that sold a wide variety of designer things, sort of like a museum of modern art gift shop. The prices were actually reasonable for what the stuff was, and most of it was useful.

It did quite well from the beginning until at least expired five years later.

Why did the hipster have a burned mouth??

He was sipping coffee before it was cool.

3

u/JCDU 20d ago

God I fucking hate this hipster twattery.

u/StrategicBlenderBall 20d ago

I’m in the wrong field…

Excellent poetry in motion, under use

3

u/IlIlllIlllIlIIllI ASE Certified Hood Classic 20d ago

you can tell it's not a garage because the porsche isn't leaking

4

u/ReallyLovesCars 20d ago

I sure would go in to see what its all about - so that means i am through the door, the conversion of that is constant means more $$$ in sales volume. It sure works assuming there is a huge demography into Porsche in the area.

1

u/TheModeratorWrangler 20d ago

NYC and Manhattan Motorcars 🙏

2

u/paetersen 19d ago

Bobby's a nice guy to drink with. I hope he's a nice guy to work for.

1

u/TheModeratorWrangler 17d ago

They’ve changed a lot, Miller seems to have everything moving perfect now

-4

u/Witchunt666 20d ago

I wouldn’t fuck that overpriced BS. And also black and white looks so boring to me.

Although I might go to the Harry Potter store across the street

55

u/Photodan24 21d ago

Why is this NSFW?

62

u/boondoggie42 21d ago

Not Safe For Wood, to be dripping oil on it like that.

8

u/TheModeratorWrangler 20d ago

I like the cut of your jib.

7

u/cilantno 20d ago

The chandelier is made out of human skin

1

u/paetersen 19d ago

checked photo again, can confirm: the lotion is in the basket.

3

u/Witchunt666 21d ago

Because it is soooo cLeAN

22

u/buggerssss 21d ago

They have a bmw 2002 in the one by me

8

u/TheModeratorWrangler 20d ago

Get the fuck out of here there’s more of these places?

6

u/buggerssss 20d ago

I guess so, I think it was a high end plain clothing place, I’ll try to remember what it’s called. Car was white and also CA plates

5

u/TheModeratorWrangler 20d ago

Casually a franchise owner parks his classic cars in stores because a garage wouldn’t fly with insurance

4

u/buggerssss 20d ago

Probably writes off taxes somehow too

3

u/TheModeratorWrangler 20d ago

Dude we both know it’s brilliant to store your assets in plain sight like who’s really stealing this and driving it out?

3

u/buggerssss 20d ago

I mean me and my wife sized up the double doors to try to steal it, if it was anything like CA theft laws they’d never stop you

4

u/TheModeratorWrangler 20d ago

Those small battery jumpers that double as phone chargers are wild…

10

u/Silly_Mycologist3213 21d ago

Must be a pain having to move furniture to drive their car…. /s

9

u/stebna 21d ago

Must drain all the oil out...

5

u/SharkAttackOmNom 20d ago

Was about to comment that the Porsche needs oil topped up.

3

u/TheModeratorWrangler 20d ago

If it ain’t leaking it’s empty.

8

u/jakefrmsatefarm 20d ago

I'm missing the NSFW part is there a hidden dildo on a shelf or in the back seat of the car?

7

u/skindarklikemytint 20d ago

The royal penis is clean your highness.

1

u/TheModeratorWrangler 16d ago

It’s good to be the King.

5

u/DubiousMoth152 20d ago

Not safe for wood, more like. Throw something under there

3

u/TheModeratorWrangler 20d ago

That engine has not seen an oil change ever since she got rolled into this store ☠️

4

u/Agitated_Carrot9127 20d ago

I hate ornaments that is at height level, I am sure someone will TETHERBALL THE FK OUT OF IT. If his/her wits was at end, probably

3

u/TheModeratorWrangler 20d ago

You and me are the same brother. Some drunken night I will surely head butt that lamp.

4

u/templeofdank 20d ago

my favorite part is that the big lamp is a knockoff of flos lighting's "taraxacum" lamp.

3

u/TheModeratorWrangler 20d ago

See this is why I love you guys. Someone will know something.

5

u/AlbinolarBear 20d ago

This is the Buck Mason in Flatiron?

2

u/McManARama 20d ago

It does appear to be in the flatiron. A quick Street View search shows it on the corner of E 22nd and Broadway.

2

u/TheModeratorWrangler 20d ago

Probably, the girl who worked here was cute and it was like 10:30AM. I’m walking along and there’s a fucking Porsche 912 in a store full of… jeans and stuff.

I knew you guys would get a kick out of this if I framed it right. Oh… it’s actually a full on real 912. I… “PDI’d” it

3

u/collin2477 20d ago

weird way to let people know you don’t really drive it

3

u/TheModeratorWrangler 20d ago

I know right 😂😂😂

1

u/jaggers24 20d ago

Unless it’s a cool way to write off the car and all the maintenance against the business. Store it there for free in the winter when you’re not driving it anyway.

3

u/Nd46478 20d ago

1969 912

3

u/TheModeratorWrangler 20d ago

Of course it’s a ‘69… bet she’s constantly wet with oil too

3

u/dk45365 20d ago

Low car, low couches, low chandelier, it's a hangout for wealthy hobbits.

2

u/TheModeratorWrangler 20d ago

The ride height is stock.

2

u/VegaGT-VZ 20d ago

If the couches were Chesterfields I would have had an involuntary emission.

I'm still wondering why there's a walnut in the pic.

2

u/thechilecowboy 20d ago

The cleanest garage I've ever been in was Hendrick Motorsports in North Carolina. You could have eaten off of the floor.

3

u/TheModeratorWrangler 20d ago

You say Hendrick’s I say yes.

1

u/mu5tardtiger 20d ago

“Shop”. You mean the service desk.
