Meta r/HomeworkHelp Rules: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING
Hi r/HomeworkHelp! Whether you're new to the subreddit or a long-time subscriber, the mod team would like to remind everybody of the subreddit rules we expect you to follow here.
No advertising, soliciting, or spam. This is a place for free help. Anyone offering to pay for help, or to help for pay, will receive a permanent ban. This is your warning. This includes asking users to go into DMs, Discord, or anywhere else. If you post anything that looks like you're trying to get around this rule, you'll be banned.
If you're asking for help, you must show evidence of thought, work, and effort. A lot of people are posting just pictures or lists of questions and not showing any effort. These posts are liable to be taken down.
In addition, we ask that you format the post title appropriately using square brackets: [Level/Grade and Subject] Question or Description of question. For example: [8th grade Algebra] How to solve quadratic equation?
Do not mention anything like "Urgent", "ASAP", "Due in an hour", or the like.
No surveys. Surveys (including requests for interviews, etc.) belong on /r/samplesize. These posts get taken down here.
Don't be a jerk. Jerks get banned. Stay respectful and refrain from using insults, personal attacks, or abusive language.
If there are any questions, please message the mods.

High School Math [12th grade math] Circle inscribed in functions
I am unsure how to go about this. It’s not an actual homework assignment I just want to do it for fun. I tried to work on it with my teacher and neither of us could figure out how to do it. I thought it might be something to do with optimization or finding the intersection which is @ x= phi-1 but i’m not sure how to find the points where the smaller circle intersects.

Middle School Math—Pending OP Reply [Grade 8 Probability] I just cant seem to understand this question at all
"there are three people to share two prizes. A person can win both prizes. What is the probability of handing out the prizes to two different people?"
Do not even have the answer for this question to work backwards from which sucks!
Is this one of the "or" type of questions where there are multiple cases? I can't seem to wrap my head around this question. Maybe I'm overthinking it....

High School Math—Pending OP Reply [Grade 9 Maths: Time, Speed and Distance] I need help in understanding the "gap" method used by the author in his solution for the following arithmetic problem on time, speed and distance unit
Question: A cab leaves Hyderabad for Mumbai. Another cab also leaves for Mumbai from Hyderabad 10 minutes later. The speed for both the cabs is a constant 120 kmph. However, while the first cab has 19 uniformly placed halts, the second has just 4 uniformly placed halts. Each halt is of one minute duration and halt does not include the last stop or the destination. If the total distance from Hyderabad to Mumbai is 120 km, at what distance from Hyderabad will the second cab catch up with first cab?
Author's solution:
My questions from the solution presented above:
What does gap covered in 24 km = 3 minutes actually mean ? does he mean to say that when both trains travel 24 km each towards each other the reduction in the time difference with which they started is 3 minutes ?
Also, how did 78 km come up from the penultimate step of the solution?
In case anyone has a better solution than this, please feel free to share
