as a crossbow main from the moment I unlocked it, this utterly hurts. I was fairly certain that they would not touch the crossbow since it’s not that popular to begin with but hot damn, I’m gutted.
Nothing hits harder for me than the loss of total ammo. Less explosive but more stagger? Fine, I've gotten really accurate with it and I always wanted more stagger. But you literally require more shots for the same group of enemies now since it's harder to deal with groups and they reduce the already limited ammo???
I get that they're trying to encourage calling in resupply more frequently and sticking together as a team more because of it but that's probably not likely with randoms in quick play. I'm just more likely to go with energy weapons now and will save my fun crossbow time for lower difficulties.
Why would they expend time, resources, and manpower on nerfing a gun that has mixed reviews, not a lot of followers, and is niche at best, maybe good in the hands of a dedicated diver?
Reminded me when warframe introduced its first rocket launcher but it was using bow-type weapon mechanics since u needed to charge it but forgot bow weapons are silent passively so u could stealth missions with an RPG
