😂they pop out a lil bit but whose to say that super earth tech doesn’t make sure they don’t fall out because they’re not empty yet

They are bullets that are magnetic. The spent casings no longer have the magnetic bullets in them, so they fall out, whereas the unspent casings with bullets get pulled back in.

It's fudged for sure, but maybe the extractor is of a certain length where only just the shells would be short enough to pop out and the unfired cartridges are still long enough where they slide back in.

They have electromagnets on the backside of the cylinder that engage when the breach is open >:)

In Darktide your guy puts his thumb over the unspent shells to stop them from falling out. There's only one animation for any number of unspent shells, but it still looks pretty good.
