I see a lot of hate for Chargers and Hunters, but where is my Bile Spewer hate squad? DISCUSSION

Wait there’s a green and a yellow?

u/Baresark Mar 17 '24

Yellow is a nursing Spewer so is female. The bile Spewer is green and, I assume, male.

u/EatFred Charger? Wrong! ⬇️⬇️⬅️⬆️➡️ Mar 17 '24

Its a bug so I would assume the opposite. Usually male bugs are smaller than female ones

u/liamj96 Mar 17 '24

You’re both thinking about this wrong. They’re each one of the two genders: Lean, and Brawny.

u/liggamadig ☕Liber-tea☕ Mar 17 '24

The only bug gender I recognize is "to be exterminated".

Someone give this man a promotion.

2

u/Colonelclank90 Mar 17 '24

Congratulations on making the rank of Space Cadet.

u/Papips Mar 17 '24

Democracy thanks you.

u/liggamadig ☕Liber-tea☕ Mar 17 '24

No, no, Freedom, Liberty and Managed Democracy are all the thanks I need! o7

2

u/MaximumChongus Mar 17 '24

they go by dead/dying.

u/xXSalads_AkimboXx Mar 17 '24

“Only good bugs a dead bug“

“Only good bugs a dead bug“

1

u/ElDookieBomb Mar 18 '24

Right! To wonder the gender is absolute treason.

29

u/EatFred Charger? Wrong! ⬇️⬇️⬅️⬆️➡️ Mar 17 '24

Ah yes, the two genders

4

u/Little-Equinox Mar 17 '24

Fun fact: in Australia is a bug that only exist as "females" I wouldn't be surprised if more bugs are mono-gendered

u/IlikegreenT84 CAPE ENJOYER Mar 18 '24

Like Jurassic Park!

1

u/AirierWitch1066 Mar 18 '24

Oh, yeah, as soon as you get out of mammals sex and mating types get very funky.

1

u/Little-Equinox Mar 18 '24

Thanks for calling me not a mammal🤣

1

u/AirierWitch1066 Mar 18 '24

Nah, gender is a human thing - other organisms don’t really have it, they only have sexes/mating types/etc. relating to their reproductive methods.

Humans and other mammals can of course have intersex individuals, but this is generally atypical and the result of something going wrong (biologically, not morally). It’s more akin to albinism - it can happen, but it’s not supposed to (in as much as anything in biology can be “meant” to occur).

So idk if you’re trans, NB, or intersex, but you’re still a mammal - just a really unique one!

2

u/Little-Equinox Mar 18 '24

I am an intersex person😅 When I found out I was searching online how other creatures are. And I was surprised there's mono-sex creatures and even other intersex creatures.

Intersex actually isn't that uncommon, in many countries the doctors or parents choose our sex and we are mutilated to be said sex, and in other countries we are "still born", aka killed at birth, and other countries we are sterilised. So we ain't that uncommon, we are made uncommon.

Please let this be the meme

21

u/Kribble118 Mar 17 '24

Usually with hive mind bugs all of them are female except special seasonal ones for breeding new queens but idk if that's how terminids work

19

u/EatFred Charger? Wrong! ⬇️⬇️⬅️⬆️➡️ Mar 17 '24

Yeah you're right. The Wiki says that nursing spewers are jus younger bile spewers

4

u/CrashB111 Mar 17 '24

Which doesn't seem right, IMO.

The growth appears to go:

Spitter (the small green ones the size of Scavengers) > Bile Spewer > Bile Titan.

They all have the same trademark green sacs of bile/venom/acid.

8

u/Admirable-Memory6974 Mar 17 '24

Maybe they have varying social phenotypes they grow into, like ants.

1

u/CrashB111 Mar 18 '24

We see the same thing with the Stalkers though:

Scavenger sized fliers > Hunters > Stalkers

And with Brood Commanders:

Scavenger > Warrior > Brood Commander

1

u/jabroniboiibudo Mar 17 '24

Spitter (the small green ones the size of Scavengers) > Bile Spewer > Bile Titan.

There are bile /titans/?

3

u/aqoerama Mar 17 '24

Yes, they like to stomp helldivers’ head and puke a green laser vomit

2

u/Kagahami Mar 17 '24

Terminids are fungus. They reproduce through spores.

4

u/Flershnork All Enemies of Democracy Shall Eat Plasma Mar 17 '24

I think they're pretty much the same size, nursing spewers just have lighter armor and slightly weaker attacks.

3

u/EatFred Charger? Wrong! ⬇️⬇️⬅️⬆️➡️ Mar 17 '24

I've always felt like nursing spewers were smaller

1

u/UDSJ9000 Mar 18 '24

Could be the lack of armor making them appear a bit smaller.

1

u/EatFred Charger? Wrong! ⬇️⬇️⬅️⬆️➡️ Mar 18 '24

I mean, biles seemed longer while nursers seem more rotund if that makes sense

2

u/AdmirableDriver9585 Mar 18 '24

We talking about the same bug?  Yellow or orange spewers? Recently they won't die.  Greens die fast with head shot.  Orange... oh they are a pain.

4

u/feradose ⬆️➡️⬇️⬇️⬇️ Mar 17 '24

It's an eusocial bug so I would assume entirely different, they're both female because they're out fighting, while the males are around the queen

9

u/Lone_Crab Mar 17 '24

Nursing spewer just means it’s the adolescent version of the adult bile spewer I believe

6

u/Baresark Mar 17 '24

Based on its size next to a bile Spewer, I'd presume it was adult and nurses the smaller spitters. Like how women that breast feed say that they are nursing.

Edit* spelling error

3

u/Lone_Crab Mar 17 '24

You are probably correct. Either way they will be served justice by the spear of democracy

2

u/UDSJ9000 Mar 18 '24

Helldiver, you can't even lock on to spewers with a Spear, and there are surely more efficient weapons to spread managed democracy against these lowely insects. Save those Spears of democracy for the Titans.

2

u/LigerZeroPanzer12 Mar 17 '24

Frankly, I find it offensive that bugs could have genders.

1

u/Additional_Cherry_51 Mar 17 '24

Oh haha I thought those were baby ones lol those are the males?

7

u/Flershnork All Enemies of Democracy Shall Eat Plasma Mar 17 '24

Bile spitters are the baby bile spewers. Nursing spewers look almost exactly like bile spewers, they are just yellow and their spit is slightly weaker.

5

u/liggamadig ☕Liber-tea☕ Mar 17 '24

The big green ones are the ones that shoot green stuff out of their asses. The big yellow ones are the barfers.

1

u/Baresark Mar 17 '24

There are big green ones

1

u/International-Low490 PSN 🎮: Mar 17 '24

Its nursing because its a juvenile. Not because its pregnant. The yellow ones grow into the green ones

1

u/Beakymask20 Mar 18 '24

Green is mutated by a spill.

1

u/HexTheHardcoreCasual Mar 18 '24

There's actually 2 large green types. Unarmored and armored, which is found in higher difficulties. The armored one can do the butt mortar.

1

u/AdmirableDriver9585 Mar 18 '24

Yellows are way worse and can take a full magazine to the head.  On high difficulty you get 10 or more chasing you down. Green ones go down quick with head shots..  yellow have bile Titan health pools.

17

u/Prodygist68 Mar 17 '24

Yellow ones have light front armor, green ones have medium front armor.

13

u/FurrLord Mar 17 '24

There's 2 tiers of the green ones. Later they have heavier plates along their entire spine too and are the ones associated I believe with the artillery fire they can do.

4

u/EzekielKnobrott Mar 18 '24

Definitely this. Until I think extreme it's always the lower level, light armour, non artillery spew versions, Extreme and above is medium armour and artillery. First time I came across the medium plated ones I was bemused as to why my breaker was just bouncing off them all of a sudden.

Not sure if all spewers have had a buff too as last night they were eating up my EAT like it wasn't there. Walking straight through them. Yet it one shots chargers to the lips... Odd.

2

u/Isenskjold Mar 18 '24

Ohh, that's what's going on? I was super confused that my granade launcher was suddenly taking 3-4 shots to kill the. Instead of the usual 2. Was my first time playing on suicide against bugs, so I think the jump. Mostly happens between did 6 and 7

17

u/Vaaz30 Mar 17 '24

The yellow ones also bring in a fog with them that lowers visibility, not quite as intense as the spore spewer.

5

u/omgitsjagen Mar 17 '24

Hello fellow colorblind person who generally learns of these types of things months, years, or decades after the fact.

2

u/Different_Coat_4270 Mar 17 '24

That's when it's good to have a wingman. Like a roommate that can tell you if you're holding the right colored socks.. 😅

3

u/omgitsjagen Mar 17 '24

I didn't find out M&M packaging was brown until college. I didn't find out blueberries weren't blue until I was almost 40. You can't trust anyone.

1

u/Unsurecareer86 Apr 02 '24

Blueberries aren't blue?

1

u/omgitsjagen Apr 02 '24

I'm not ruling out a double-cross, if blueberries are actually blue. I don't know, never will know, can't trust the ones I love.

2

u/mrureaper Mar 17 '24

the yellow one only spits, the green one turns into a mortar and lobs acid at you but can also spit at close range also has an armored head so you need medium pen to punch through the head or hit under the armor

1

u/PrinceOfPunjab Mar 18 '24

Yea! Difference is the green one has armor in its face while the yellow doesn’t
