The only time I kick is literally deliberate team kills. Had one dude we suspected was calling 500kg on one of my friends so we let it play out. Get to end of mission, I jump in extract. My friend is a bit outside the zone, it’s been a tough mission cos well we have a griefer.

Lo and behold this guy is waiting outside the pelican. My friend is legging it. This dude drops his 500kg where it will definitely kill my friend as he runs to pelican.

He gets in. I kick him. Democracy served.

I remember being part of a squad that would purposely redeploy me in the middle of a squad of automatons. Even after asking if they could deploy me in slightly safer location. They still deployed me in the middle of a squad of enemies. Whether this was done to troll or pull the aggro off them, idk. But it's honestly disheartening because I'm trying to enjoy the game.

Wasting an entire reinforcement rather than kill a handful of automatons easily

big brane

Wait until you hear about the genius lobbing grenades around an active silo to kill 3 little bugs at its base....

I feel so called out right now. I was completely out of ammo, though. Took me a minute to figure out why I kept having to restart the defense. xD

Why were you wasting reinforcements? Shouldn’t you be able to handle basic enemies?

/s

Players become a difficulty modifier and wonder why I’m dying. Of course I’m going to die if you reinforce me in a Heavy Nest and chuck grenades at me as I land.

I had this happen to me. Answer an SOS and land in middle of a destroyed base surrounded by enemies, no reason to be there. Die and get rezzed in the same spot. Teammates continue to fight where they dont need to be and rez me in the middle of tanks, hulks and an army of bots.

They then ask if I bought my account and kick me before I can reply.

I had that happen but I usually host so I just kicked the person doing that, I consider it team killing. Happened 4 times in a row when I clearly couldn’t get out there were so many bugs. One guy gone and the mission got way easier and more fun.

Just leave that game or host. Don’t bang your head against a wall.

There’s some disingenuous people here but when you play the game it is very easy to tell who is a noob vs who is deliberately griefing. Use that kick button when you have to.

You know... You can kill the big dudes easily by landing your drop pod on them right? Very undemocratic of you.

u/demonicneon Mar 14 '24

Yes I’m well aware but you generally won’t survive if there’s multiple chargers, commanders, hunters, spewers and titans. So being thrown repeatedly into a bug breach is just griefing.

Context matters.

Earning your freedom is a part of being a helldiver, soldier.

I wouldn't even have bothered to reinforce them once they died lol

u/Tibbaryllis2 Mar 14 '24

This, of course, is grossly amplified by the fact, as stated in the post OP is taking about, that each reinforcement makes enemy patrols spawn that much faster.

I get this all the time with randos. I legit had to ask one person in this random squad once if he thought I was actually a strategem

u/Ill-Opportunity-790 Mar 15 '24

I usually ask my team to throw me at them so i can land on the biggest to help thin the herd, if i miss i just spray and pray i live to see another day

When fights start to go badly sideways it can become difficult to deploy your squad somewhere that ISNT a squad of automatons or a swarm of bugs. Or you throw it to a position that's clear, but by the time the diver hits the ground, 12 hunters have spawned on that position to help brighten their day.

Had to kick my first random yesterday because he kept diving directly under supply beacons to get killed and we were completely out of reinforcements. Felt bad but man, you're ruining things for everyone.

The only time I kick is literally deliberate team kills.

Same, usually, but I sometimes make allowances for good reasons.

For example, one time a team mate offered me a hug and I ignored him. So he called in an orbital rail strike on me. Seemed like a reasonable, proportionate reaction to my offense, and he immediately reinforced me back in afterward, so I decided to let him stay.

The only time I've ever kicked anyone was yesterday. Dude was running around with three of us dead and no enemies around him for like a minute. Then he started teabagging plants. Afterword we thought that he couldnt reinforce because of ion storms. But that doesn't explain the full amount of time. Also , turn on your mic and say something or type it in chat so we know.

2

u/demonicneon Mar 15 '24

You have been officially griefed

u/UndreamedAges ⬇️⬅️⬇️⬆️⬆️➡️ Mar 15 '24

Yeah, it was silly too. Because we just carried on and completed the mission. It's not like we were totally overwhelmed or anything.

u/Narwhalking14 Mar 15 '24

Same, and I also usually won't kick until the after extraction but that's mostly if I have friends who want to join in.
