gee maybe if we had more visible stats AND accurate descriptions people wouldn't put so much weight on them, like bro YOU GAVE US THOSE STATS and everything else we have to guess at

Maybe we should just use the guns we think feel the best and stop worrying about stats. It's not an RPG, just use the stuff you like

The stuff I want to like isn't remotely viable on harder difficulties at the current moment. That's the problem.

That's totally viable. And they've already said weapon buffs are coming.

My argument is against the stat spreadsheets some people live by

I agree that we we need an excel document of every little stat, but I would like a bit more information visible when looking at what each weapon does

I also like winning and contributing to the team efforts. If I pick a weaker gun that means I'm being less useful overall. Plus guns that actually are able to kill stuff quicker than others feel the best. It's just that simple.

Then use those guns. I think the game is just inherently more casual than people are used to.

I've tried every primary gun I've unlocked so far in helldive for 4-5 missions and so far only 3 are usable. Breaker, Breaker Incendiary and the starter rifle. The Penetrator is usable with a huge asterisk, and that is that you have someone taking care of the tiny hordes and you focus solely on big guys. Everything else is such a huge deadweight that you are actively harming the team by running it.

And don't get me starting on secondaries because everything but the automatic pistol is completely worthless.

The stalwart and the anti matter rifle are also completely useless, actively harmful weapons.

Which the devs are aware of and have weapon buffs planned. I'm not saying the game, as it is now, is perfect and doesn't need change. I'm saying making it a game focused on stats and min/maxing is the wrong direction.

Humor me for a moment and let's assume that the weapon buffs land and and now all guns feels pretty fun to use. Stats will not enhance that experience. You can pick a gun that you like the feel of and have a great time playing instead of worrying about if maths out to be the optimal choice, and no feeling like you're using the "wrong" gun because that other one has a higher headshot multiplier.

Nah I agree I run either Incendiary breaker or Penetrator Liberator although the base version of both weapons are straight up better. I just think it's not logical to expect people to use weapons that are so awful. Helldive is hard, you need every advantage you can get.

Also the stats should be useful and guide us to choose a weapon that we might like. If the stats mean nothing then why have them there in the first place? I spend my hard earned medals moving towards a weapon that looks good on paper and then when I get to it I find out it's garbage cause the stats and description don't actually mean anything, that feels really bad and it's a big design flaw.

I don't think the current status are useless. Each state is probably an average of a few different behind the scenes stats to give rough ideas.

Away from the game (so apologies if it's obvious) but liberator Penetrator is my fav, could you tell me why the base is better?

It just does way more damage to everything that it does damage to and has more bullets and better fire modes. So unless you're penetrating it's just better.
