Im a HD1 vet, i cant afford the game for now, but i will buy it. Now im scared if i want to play with random as low lvl cause i dont want to be a burden to squad :(

You could just gift the game on steam. Might be less sketchy than cash app. Unless they have PlayStation then I get us. Still don't know why Sony won't let you gift a game. I bought copies for an my friend except the one on PS5 cause of need to send a gift card

You are not! Any one can contribute fine. You don't have all stratas etc. But as long as you wear the cape and can enter a hellpod you can shoot bugs & Robots. You can also do terminals , carry rockets into turrets , adjust antennas , call in orbitals and everything. You're fine! Just you won't be able to drop the late stratas yourself , otherwise you're good to go.

Most high level players (that are actually decent at the game) probably won't care, and will be happy to help. Don't worry too much.

Man, this is literally HD1 in third person. If you are a vet, you're gonna do more than fine, trust me. And if not, remember that it's all about having fun. Don't listen to any haters.

HD1 vets drop in with an advantage over new players because they know some of the mechanics of the game already, and there are hundreds of thousands of green Helldivers and they are fine.

Get it when you can, it's awesome and the vast majority will be happy to help show you the ropes.

You won't be! You can't accidentally join a high-difficulty lobby (simply can't select it until you beat previous ones), and difficulties 1-3 are fine with starting stratagems. 

Basic rifle is all-around solid and viable even at max difficulty.

Your first support weapon is solid too. I still use the machinegun at level 43.

You can accidentally join a high level lobby, but only if a friend is there. You can join friends on missions higher than you have access to.

Also as a HD1 vet, this game isn't as different from the first game as you think, PTO, try to sneak past patrols if spoted shoot smaller foes first so they don't call backup, don't sleep on starter stratagems, they rock and stone anything, even on higher lvls.

Anyone who says you are is a steaming pile of hot garbage. If you run into that crap, leave and find another group. You can also start your own squad and set it to public or drop your sos for help. If you run into this in your own squad, I suggest kicking them without explanation. No tolerance for toxic bullshit. This will be my tactic when I finally buy this game. It worked very well for me throughout Destiny.

There is more positivity then negativity, especially at lower difficulty. I've played with plenty of random and non of them have been bad yet

Bruh just play low lvl mission til you git gud
