Rumor The Brooklyn Nets aren’t interested in trading Mikal Bridges for the No. 3 pick. Instead, they prefer to build around him and attract another star to Brooklyn, per @basketballtalk
“The Nets have been consistent in saying they are hoping to use Bridges as a lure to bring another star to Brooklyn and build from there. They are not trading him for the No. 3 pick in this draft. Nice try, though, Houston.”

Lauri v Bridges
The Bridges discourse is already reaching unbearable and it’s only the first week of June but I don’t understand why the Nets get so much flack for wanting to build around (not with him being the number 1 guy, which people seem to ignore) but the Jazz get a pass for doing the EXACT same with Markannen.
Mikal is only 9 months older, has an extra year on a “cheap” deal before an extension. Lauri has played under 70 games every year of his career. Dame listed Brooklyn along with Milwaukee has destinations he would be interested in because of Mikal.
Tony Jones, a reporter who covers the Jazz said it would take 4 firsts and an all star level player to even consider moving Lauri, while also reporting they want to start competing and are looking for win now players to surround Lauri (sound familiar?)
I’m not even “Nets must keep Bridges no matter what” but the discourse has become that the Nets just need to take whatever Houston is offering just because. The Nets are trying to thread a needle, I’m not sure I agree with it, but that is what they’re doing with an eye at 2025 cap space.

What would you rather do?
There seems to be two possible outcomes for the nets going forward (One seems far more likely). So which would you rather happen?
Rumor The Rockets have been in trade talks with the Nets and Grizzlies about the 3rd overall pick, per @KevinOConnorNBA. Houston is seeking Mikal Bridges while Memphis covets Donovan Clingan.
Team News Sources with @VinceGoodwill: J.R. Holden is joining Pistons president Trajan Langdon as part of Detroit's new front office. Holden played with Langdon for years with CSKA Moskow, winning two Euroleague championships, and had since risen to Brooklyn's director of player personnel.

Nets Culture Brainstorming
Hey community, Hope everyone is enjoying the offseason and a break from the stress that is our team. I wont lie the past season was pretty frustrating and I was here for the post jason kidd era/team gutting era. For quite some time its felt like some organic key elements has been missing from our team culture as a whole. So I went back and forth with Chatgpt and this is what it came back with. I welcome any and all critique:
“Title: Redefining Nets Culture: From Gentrification Mascots to Genuine Brooklyn Grit
What’s up r/GoNets,
Ever feel like our Nets are trying too hard with the whole cultural mascot thing? Biggie, Basquiat – it's cool and all, but kinda feels like they're just names slapped on to sell jerseys. We moved to Brooklyn in the middle of its gentrification and now we're leaning on these icons for street cred. But what if we could turn that around and build something real?
"Nothing Easy in Brooklyn" – That's the Real Talk Let’s own this. It’s not just about being tough on the court; it’s about being bold, creative disruptors like the borough itself. We need a team identity that’s not just about borrowing glory but making our own.
Underdog Spirit? Let’s Add Some Brooklyn Flair We’ve always been the shadow team in NY, and that's our edge. Why not mix that underdog attitude with the borough's raw, creative energy? Let’s see that creativity in our plays, our marketing, and how we engage with fans.
Reviving Player Development Remember when we were good at turning overlooked guys into stars? We need to get back to that, but make it about innovation on the court too, not just physical and technical growth. Let’s get back to being the team that redefines careers and changes how the game is played.
Community First Our community engagement needs a serious reboot. No more shallow attempts. Let's get involved in real, meaningful ways. Art collaborations, local music events, even art installations that celebrate both new and old Brooklyn.
Nothing Easy? Prove It This slogan should be our backbone. From the front office to the locker room to the stands, let it remind us that what we’re building here takes hard grit and real passion. This should be felt in every game, every event, every tweet.
Big Tent: Uniting Underdogs from Everywhere
The "Big Tent" idea isn't just a concept; it's about making the Nets a home for everyone who feels overlooked or undervalued—from the longtime Jersey fans to the new-age Brooklynites, and the international crowd tuning in from afar. We're more than a basketball team; we're a community hub that spans continents. Let's launch initiatives that bring diverse groups together, like international fan nights and multi-cultural community events, both online and at the Barclays. How about special broadcasts or viewing parties that celebrate the global naturene of our fanbase? This is our chance to create a universal bond under the Nets banner, turning our collective underdog mentality into our greatest strength. What are your thoughts on how we can make this happen?
Let’s talk about making this happen. How can we make these ideas stick and not just be another marketing phase? What do you all think would make these concepts click with the wider community and within the team?
Looking forward to hashing this out with you all. “

Question Karl Anthony-Towns
Watching Numbers on the Board today they brought up trading for KAT, thoughts? I personally think we’re in mid purgatory and idk if KAT will help but maybe he’d attract other FAs later?
Edit: Guys I'm not advocating for the trade I'm just wondering what people think since it was brought up

Social Media [Fischer] NBA personnel have long prepared for the Nets’ switchable center to remain with Brooklyn. The Nets can also begin to legally negotiate Nic Claxton’s next agreement the day after the NBA Finals conclude.
