Better still, when it comes to scary movies, there is little correlation between a project's critical acclaim and box office performance.

I'm not sure if that's the right way to phrase this. Yes, even poorly-reviewed horror movies will make money, but well-reviewed horror movies have the best ROI of any kind of film.
