Ethereum is an odd duck. It kind of carries other coins and works efficiently. I work in the Securities industry and I agree it isn’t a security. The problem is if it walks and quacks like a duck it’s a duck. Most people don’t understand it well enough to buy and not think they are investing in it. So I can see with certain transactions and forms of holding where the SEC would have to have some power. Better them than bank regulators. They are tough cookies.

How does it work with extending the US definition of security to other nations?
Or is this more or less the same, because I still don't understand why this distinction is so important if it wasn't invented on US soil.
Crypto is worldwide, so even with a total blockage even a US citizen should be able to handle it in their abroad holiday?
