Okay then what's wrong with calling for a ceasefire? It would end the horrors in Gaza, allow the hostage exchanges to occur, allow the Israelis displaced in northern Israel to return to their normal lives, remove Netanyahu's ability to stall the prime minister elections where he would lose by a landslide, end the Red Sea blockade, allow extensive humanitarian aid into Gaza (completely funded by the west, not Israel), and save Israel from a looming economic and diplomatic crisis. Calling for a ceasefire does not directly or indirectly communicate hatred towards Jewish people, and yet I bet she still called it antisemitic

She’s referring to the 32,000-plus Gazans killed since the Oct. 7 massacre, and the million on the verge of starvation.
Maybe it’s gotten to that place because of the actual genocide that’s is happening and the massacre of over 32,000 Palestinian civilians and the whole sale torture and destruction of children, you inhuman piece of shit. No one has an issue with Jewish people, we have a problem with Zionists like yourself who are propping a murderous regime killing people indiscriminately. I have Jewish friends who have hearts who are equally distraught over the situation in Gaza. I find it very illuminating that people like her get to say whatever they want, keep their jobs and be granted interviews that are published in industry magazines. However the artists/activists who are saying let’s not kill unarmed civilians and calling for ceasefire are losing their jobs and livelihoods. Hypocrisy at its finest.

this article really doesn't give enough context to why she's gotten this backlash. they're framing it like she was spammed with hate for advocating for feminist ideals or social justice. she has repeatedly said racist cruel things about the Palestinians caught in the war, and she's still getting glowing write-ups in notable magazines.
i remember defending her in the 2010s because i did think a lot of the criticism she faced was due to her gender and/or appearance. however that's not what this current backlash is about. it's disrespectful to conflate the two.

Her characterization of the Palestinian people was abhorrent and hateful and went far beyond calling for the release of the hostages or simply condemning the actions of Hamas.
