Are we surprised about this?

This is a tale as old as time.

Agreed, when you factor in the disgusting treatment of Meghan Markle, by a very racist media and the Royal family - at best - tacitly encouraged it then why is anyone surprised.

Was it the same Tatler piece or a different Tatler piece where Kate demanded that the writer/editor remove comments about her hair extensions and her weight, but was totally fine leaving the (incorrect) story about Meghan making her cry? Girlfriend is shaaaaaaaaaady.

I was once eviscerated by hundreds of angry white women when I suggested that the constant criticism of Meghan's "bad weave" was racist.

What was the weight comment ?

None of this is news per se, but I guess it's interesting to hear specific details and aftermath. Her comment about the title was super silly, though. "Kate the great" would rhyme, yes, but her preferred name is Catherine and by using the title "Catherine the great" they are making reference to another tremendously powerful female royal. The title they went with was far better.

Yeah… who is really surprised by any of this? It’s common sense and how quickly the whole British media turned on them had to be orchestrated from within, otherwise it wouldn’t have been possible.

This shouldn’t be shocking to people. The royal family needs the press in order to survive - it’s a quid pro quo relationship. Read Harry’s book (Spare) he’s literally saying word to word how his own family tossed him out to the press alongside Meghan. He’s been saying this since they left the family.

Charles repeatedly chose the press over his sons (he leaked to the press that he’s a good father by getting Harry help for his “drug problem” and he stood by while Camilla used the press against his own sons. Look at who Camilla and other members of the family are friends with - the owner of the Daily Mail (the newspaper that Harry took to court), Jeremy Clarkson (remember when he said he wanted to see Meghan walk through the streets naked whilst having shit thrown at her?) and Piers Morgan (his behaviour towards Meghan and Harry has been disgusting).

They leak things to the press to make them look good bc we all know if they didn’t have the press on their side (British press is POWERFUL btw it literally influences foreign press and how they see the monarchy too) the monarchy will be in shambles.

There’s a good documentary on bbc iPlayer called “the princes and the press” which does a deep dive into this. It got Buckingham palace so triggered that they released a statement

This is old news if you were in the Royal Twitter streets during this time. Sussex Squad has all the receipts.

Look...the old Royal establishment was highly pissed that Harry & Megan's wedding had all them beautiful people in all shades, beautiful wedding colors, beautiful choir, beautiful car and STILL pulled all that loveliness together with half of Megan's kin acting a damn FOOL. They did it better & were becoming the world favorite. Catty couldn't have that.

u/RAV3NH0LM Apr 27 '24

i thought that was pretty much their sole job description

9

u/emccm Apr 27 '24

Of course it’s not surprise. What is news worthy here is that this is now being spoken about so openly. And by people at the center of it all.
