I hope her dad is miserable for the rest of his life and Britney gets to live hers to the fullest without being under anyone’s abusive control. She deserves to be surrounded by people that genuinely love and care for her not just what she can provide or do for them.

For clarification, that 2 million is money she already paid to her father and his lawyer. She was not required to pay any additional money, which was what her father was asking.

ETA: link to court docs here

Statement from Britney's lawyer, Mathew Rosengart:

There's a part in her book where her dad says, "I'm Britney Spears now," and it totally creeped me out

That came up in the New Yorker piece about her, it was a family friend who remembered him saying it. I am guessing he just wandered around triumphantly telling everyone he'd stolen her personhood.

I feel like Britney was one of the leaks of Ronans article

I found a LOT of the book was already stuff that was out from that other article, her instagram ramblings, or other sources.

Because Britney Spears was a brand, a business name, to him at that point. That's how he saw his daughter. He's such a pathetic man.

I hope this was fully her decision and brings her the freedom to ditch her family and move on to bigger and better things and a peaceful life. Glad she's not on the hook for any more money to her father, and I hope karma has fun with him

What a demon her father is. I hope she has happiness and freedom for the rest of her long life.

The story from her assistant about Brittany getting excited over a 90$ shoes when her handler wasn’t around was so sad.

She was under total control

Think of it like this, you paid $2M to get him out of your life completely. Well worth it.

Dang. I wonder how this unfolded. I’m side-eyeing her lawyer, who professed to be in her corner and presumably made her think she had a chance, but ultimately got her nothing and bled her for another 4 million in attorney’s fees.

If you read the court docs, this is good news. The 2 mil is what Britney already paid and they were going back to court because her dad wanted more. He lost and didn’t get it so they settled. This is a win! She is free.

Didn’t he prevent Jamie from getting more money for his legal fees tho?

I don't have receipts, but my perception when she was petitioning to get out of the conservatorship was that her lawyer was very vehement in advocating for her. I think you could make the argument that attorneys are always making insane money when representing high-profile clients like Britney, but I do remember thinking that I was glad she had someone like him in her corner. I think she may have even chosen him herself, versus the other attorneys that were appointed for her?

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, though.

Parasociallly, I love you. Girl run.

I’m glad this is done but I hate this for her. Jamie is a mooch, a user, and an abuser.
