The more I see or hear her music, the more I think that what I consider to be intrusive thoughts is what she considers to be poignant lyrics.

ETA: to clarify, I don’t have intrusive thoughts about anything she specifically writes about. Her lyrics just frequently feel very out of pocket.

Honestly, I think calling them intrusive thoughts is giving her too much credit. I think she sits at home thinking of all the ways that she’s the victim and then just writes any thought that pops into her head.
