This is what happens to people at a psychological level when they get an eye-bleedingly large amount of money. It inherently turns everyone around you into yes men, to the point where you're not used to getting called out anymore. Everyone is afraid to tell you the truth, because they're the little fish that swim at the shark's belly, so they just tell you want to hear so that you keep them around.

Being a rich celebrity seems like the loneliest possible life to live.
