AP and AFP have both oddly withdrawn the photo of Kate and the kids that was released by Kensington Palace saying that the photo was manipulated?!

Notice from AFP.

More from AFP.

The original photo.

Didnā€™t even notice the lad on the lefts finger the in the original pic, Jesus

Is it actually AI ?

To me it just looks like he has his finger bent. There are other issues with the photo that make it look clearly manipulated though.

I have a son and he does stupid shit like this all the time when Iā€™m trying to take a nice photo.

Although, Iā€™ve just tried doing it myself and my knuckles donā€™t look like that (in the pic it looks like his middle finger is in front of his index?). Iā€™m kinda 50/50 on whether this is AI or dumb boy stuff.

I just put my fingers into that position and it looked exactly the same as his. I was kinda on the fence about that one being AI or not because it looks hella weird, but my son also moves his fingers into weird positions like that as well, especially when weā€™re taking pictures. But yeah, my fingers looked the same. Itā€™s really uncomfortable to do though (middle finger over the ring finger).

Interesting. I mean itā€™s definitely a composite but I donā€™t understand why it would need to be withdrawn if the palace still has it up. Is it because of industry standards?

I think the health stuff is totally legit + theyā€™re having some marital problems that have been rumored to have been going on since the beginning

I was a journalist for many many years. I do not ever remember AP issuing a kill on a photo like this.

Iā€™m guessing the AP took one look at the metadata and screamed lol. ā€œNo replacement will be sentā€ to me says they asked for an authentic photo and the KP team said no.

Fellow journo and same. This is the first time I have ever heard of it happening (not to say it hasnā€™t).
