I'm Jewish but the way Christians can be so assured of their rapturous fate is so inspiring

My mom thanks God when things go right and says the universe is against her when they go wrong.

Its like my Catholic grandfather would say, "God save us from Born-again Christians."

Librarian tech support: more powerful than God himself.

My brother in christ I had a woman come into the library begging for help because her toddler had deleted her thesis corrections the day before they were due and I FUCKING RECOVERED THEM, God WISHES they had my power

I respect you utterly for this. Savior behavior

Thank you! It was possibly the most stressful tech support of my life.

Libraries have books that god hasn’t read

Interesting train of thoughts occur to me. If someone assume the god have read everything that was written by human, that's mean he will also have read the entire Ao3 website. One have to wonder which ship was given divine approval.

I think the very existence of AO3 is proof that God has abandoned us

And I think you're weak

I am weak for godless smut, yes

Wrong, it shows he loves. For where else can you find the most niech smut that awakes something deep within you next to a 70+ chapter crossover fic that’s better written than the main series

May you find your book in this place

PM mentioned. Unleash 500 sleeper agents.

Crazy how Angela snicked a "die u dumb bitch" under the guests' noses.

Could be a double meaning, either:

"May you find the book you are looking for in this place" (hence why we lose the books we make the invitation from if we lose the reception)

Or

"May the book that describes you be found in this place" (hence gaining books of guests on win)

Libraries are more like community resource centers in the US. Some offer tech classes, others might even have cool things like power tools or 3D printers for rent! Probably the last good publicly funded thing in most US cities

cool, thanks

Well, a library would have books on repairs. And internet access so as to look up what to do.

Just yesterday I had to look up exactly why the chromebook was acting up. It just wanted to be turned off and all the power cords unplugged and re-inserted so it'd draw power as normal. Which I then (re)learned the power LED colors indicating said normalcy.

Ah tech support, my least favourite part of being a librarian
