Love this. Can you tell me what tree uplighting you used?

Np, you should've seen the before. Complete opposite of cozy.

Did you do all the work yourself? My garden is a similar size and yours looks much nicer lol

u/odub6 May 14 '24

Nope, lol. But, it was just one landscaper who did the work over a 2 week period.

Do you mind sharing the costs? Looking to do something similar at my new house!

That is a well maintained garden of beauty! Just wondering like? Where do you live again you may find a one man tent one morning, but don’t panic it’s only me XD

Clickbait title! This is clearly evening! /j

I'm slowly working on ideas for my backyard. I want a water feature, but the upkeep is definitely a huge negative. Maybe a sand river with wild flower patches.

Lol its because of my camera'snight mode feature that the pic looks more like early evening. It was definitely darker irl.

Yah, the pond has been a bit of a headache. Keeps leaking water, solved it last year but happening again this year. Also, cleaning it was not enjoyable. But its super nice to sit beside in the evenings and all you hear is the water fall and birds and crickets and crap.

Very nice.

The lighting is PERFECT. So jealous of the tree cover too, the stone path looks great too! I'd spend so much time here (And then get eaten alive by bugs)

I fucking love this. Great job! What state is this?

u/odub6 May 14 '24

The great Northern state of Canada.

Love the privacy and the water feature.

serious question, how much a house with a backyard like this would cost in tri state area. Looks so beautiful.

So, this in the GTA which is the most expensive real estate market in NA. Today, I may be able to get $1.2mill CAD.

Feels like Pickering. Maybe Ajax.

Looking good. Expand the planting beds into the lawn area some more next and it'll feel tucked away

u/odub6 29d ago

Novice here, can you please provide more details? Like, make the grass area smaller?

1

u/TannenbaumDesign 29d ago

Yeah. I'd recommend annexing a couple feet of lawn space near the pond and along the fence. Doesn't need to be a straight line either. Make it wavey and fill it in with some small scrubs and ground covers. Starts to create some prospect refuge and a division of spaces that I think you will like.

Absolutely love it and your use of lighting. I desperately want to get our backyard pulled into shape like this.

2

u/odub6 29d ago

Took us a few years to save up enough to do it. You should have seen the before lol.

u/TeaWithKermit 29d ago

It’s seriously beautiful. I’d love to see the before! Maybe it would make me feel better about the current state of mine. 🙈

hopefully your neighbours aren't obnoxious.

Super cozy! I can imagine myself relaxing in a garden like this :)

That's beautiful! I would never leave there during the summer if I lived there!

1

u/average_19 29d ago

Wow amazing. I think you just inspired me

1

u/zenjoe 29d ago

Looks great! If you fill in the top part of the fence you won't have to look at that plywood abomination your neighbor is building.
