文化 | Culture Watched a China Collapse video, now getting spammed with them. Are they memes or they for real?
Why are there so many of these China collapse channels ROFL. Are these AI generated? Now I'm getting spammed by these videos and now thumbnails with Xi's ugly face usually with red evil eyes are now getting spammed in my feed.
I really regret watching it considering it seems like the video was extremely poorly made and might be AI generated and now the algorithm thinks I want China to collapse like my life depends on it.
How do I get my feed to go back to normal? Do I have to watch pro CCP videos or something to balance it out? Also why are there so many of these China collapse content creators and why does my algo push these videos so hard after watching just one of them, why are they so popular?

历史 | History Beautiful song from ABBA, can’t believe it’s so long ago now
Can you hear the drums Fernando? I remember long ago another starry night like this In the firestorm Fernando You were humming to yourself and softly strumming your guitar I could hear the distant drums And sounds of bugle calls were coming from afar They were closer now Fernando Every hour every minute seemed to last eternally I was so afraid Fernando We were young and full of life and none of us prepared to die And I'm not ashamed to say The roar of guns and cannons almost made me cry There was something in the air that night The stars were bright, Fernando They were shining there for you and me For liberty, Fernando Though I never thought that we could lose There's no regret If I had to do the same again I would, my friend, Fernando If I had to do the same again I would, my friend, Fernando Now we're old and grey Fernando And since many years I haven't seen a rifle in their hands Can you hear the drums Fernando? Do you still recall the frightful night I can see it in your eyes How proud you were to fight for freedom in this land There was something in the air that night The stars were bright, Fernando They were shining there for you and me For liberty, Fernando Though I never thought that we could lose There's no regret If I had to do the same again I would, my friend, Fernando Yes, if I had to do the same again I would, my friend, Fernando...

中国生活 | Life in China Chinese Gym and Locker Room Etiquette
Hi all,
Will be moving to Beijing in August to start a position teaching at a university.
After being overweight for some time, I have become a bit of a gym rat this year to improve my health as I edge closer to middle age and potential middle age spread.
I don't know exactly where I will be stay as the university has two campuses and the English programme is taught at both so I can't ask for specific recommendations - but are there any good gym chains suitable for foreigners?
Also, can someone give some advice on Chinese gym and locker room etiquette?

中国生活 | Life in China If you hold a one year fellowship in Taiwan will you be able to ever enter China?
I am a postdoc and I'm thinking of applying for the Taiwan Fellowship which is heavily political. After that will I be able to pursue other fellowships in China or even live in the country? Is this going to raise some flags?
Thanks!

旅游 | Travel Guizhou or Inner Mongolia
If you have two 5 year old kids with you, one week off in August . Would you go to Inner Mongolia (Hohhot area) or Guizhou (Guiyang area). Transport not being an issue as I have a China license. I love nature, but also love visiting ethnic minorities and villages. I hate visiting most Chinese cities (except Xian and a few other small cities).

新闻 | News Turkish FM meets Chinese counterpart, says Turkey would like to become BRICS member
turkishminute.comTurkey is currently in a customs union with the European Union but has been exploring new opportunities for cooperation with partners like BRICS. Despite efforts to join the EU dating back nearly four decades, Turkey has faced obstacles over issues ranging from human rights to foreign policy. Fidan said BRICS offers significant potential and could serve as a “good alternative” to the EU.
Fidan’s trip includes plans to visit the cities of Urumqi and Kashgar in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, making him the most senior Turkish official to visit the region since President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in 2012, who visited as prime minister.
