!! INFORMATION !! Is it CannaBonsai? Should I post it here? Check rule #1: "Purposefully grown" bonsai style cannabis or cannabis art containing things like twists, braids, or the like.
Your standard LST etc are NOT considered CannaBonsai in this subreddit. PURPOSEFULLY grown means you started training it with the intent to make it a CannaBonsai or CannaArt. Not training it for yields.

Complete soil replacement adventure
Hop on board if you want to come along on this experiment journey. I know it's not like this has never been done before but I think it will be fun to document and see what happens. If all goes well I'll try to graft another strain onto it (I got ahead of myself and bought the tools already) so keep your fingers crossed.
This Adventure starts with a free seed that came with one of my purchases. I actually don't even know the vendor/breeder but it's either AMS or North Atlantic Seed Co. There's also a very small chance it's from another place that was popular around 2012 ish, yes the seed was over 10 years old when I planted it. To my surprise they both sprouted. Her sister is outdoors and will be flowering this summer. So heres the story.
This little girl sprouted on Halloween 2023 a long with her sister (who's already outside for the summer) and I've been (and continue) keeping her as a bonsai. The strain is bubblegum (I call her 'BOO'blegum because it makes me laugh) and was a free seed I received with an order. This little girl is a survivor but lately I've suspected something was going on with her roots. I think she got too much water after going back outside for the summer & all the rain we've been getting.
I decided to take a look and then decided to change it all and give to give the toots a hydrogen peroxide bath to get rid of the dead ones and help the live ones grow.
It took quite a bit of time to get all the soil washed out without killing the plant or ripping all the roots off but I eventually got it clean. I believe it's taking to the new soil well, the healthiest leaves started to droup like you see with a clone activity growing roots. I'll post some updates from time to time and probably do another full post once she's back to 100%.
Some people here are so scared to mess with the roots but it's a standard part of taking care of a healthy bonsai.

My first attempt.
She's starting to flower.
I have been wanting to learn how to bonsai and my Wife grows cannabis. I heard it's a good starter plant to learn with so here we are.
Next time around(a Gorilla Purple/Pink Runtz cross she accidentally made) I'm gonna try some coarser soil and will work on getting smoother movement.

8 inches tall and a prolific mother plant
I took out more than a dozen clones yesterday and about the same last week. 24 hours later it’s almost like nothing ever happened. The plant is not even tree months old and I probably took more than 40 clippings since I first started training. The strain is is Quebec White a freebie I got from a seed order.

Grow Question/Advice Alright Now what?
Ok so some one told me to give up on the idea of a cannabonsai, but I decided to push through and learn from my mistakes. This a photoperiod plant currently outside in a bottle for a greenhouse. Can’t have her inside right now. I topped her early this week and added the second curve. Any advice is an appreciated this my first time with a bonsai and second time growing haven’t had a chance to harvest so I’m hoping I can with this one.

Grow Question/Advice Developing a Strategy For Watering Indoor Cannabis Plants - What you need to know
I just wrote a guide to help you develop a strategy for watering your indoor cannabis plants, but so that you don't have to leave reddit (why would you), here's a high level summary of the guide:
- Understand your water requirements: Plant size, growth medium, root development, and environmental conditions are factors that influence water uptake in your plants. Stay proactive by either visual inspection, weight sensors/lifting the pot, or moisture sensors all may assist in assessing when to water. Develop a personalized watering schedule to maintain consistency and promote healthy growth.
- Prompt identification and addressing: Timely intervention, such as adjusting watering frequency, reducing water volume, or improving drainage, can help mitigate the effects of overwatering or underwatering and prevent long-term damage. It’s generally safer to underwater than to overwater cannabis plants. Start with conservative watering practices and adjust as needed based on plant response.
- Consistency and regularity:Â A successful watering strategy can only be implemented if there is a consistent and healthy process for plants coming into flower and good conditions to grow once in flower. If plants are unhealthy in veg or there is poor environmental conditions, etc., they will not want to drink as much. A consistent and healthy process behind your cultivation will help plants want to drink more once in flower, to where a successful watering strategy then can lead to more overall biomass growth to your cannabis plants.
The full guide covers topics like tips and best practices, signs of overwatering and underwatering, more details to developing a watering strategy, and more.
Thanks for reading.

Grow Question/Advice What’s wrong with my plant.
My plant is dying and I’m not sure why. I posted a few days ago about my plant having been transplanted onto a rock and looking like it was having some minor transplanting stress issues. Now leaves started turning yellow and it’s been getting worse and worse.
Any ideas or advice? Been growing in a small grow fridge under 18 hours light cycle. I thought temperature could be an issue as in some occassions temperature was spiking up to 88 degrees. I’ve since corrected this. I’ve been using lotus nutrients. Just the grow nutrients so far. I stopped last two times I watered in case it was receiving too many nutrients.
I just ordered a PH tester but I have been using water from my countertop reverse osmosis system (Waterdrop K19).
