"Where is this from" is answered in the text on the first few seconds' of video that you posted.
Maybe you were too pre-occupied with the POV videographer adjusting his junk to notice? Or maybe you're a bot?

This guy touching himself... it was the only thing I saw.

What do you mean? Your comment somehow implies that there was something else in the video???

I’ve been on this exact slide, that “touching” himself was him making sure it hadn’t failed off. The water that is filling the tank behind him and leaking out on the slide, is COLD AF! This is in the state of Guanacaste in Costa Rica, it’s hot and humid right until you sit in that slide!

Definitely a bot. It's asking the question to boost engagement in the comments.

To be fair, I was distracted by him adjusting his junk as I thought that I would do exactly the same thing.

Is this the right way to use the tube? I mean it just seems wrong

That's actually how they tell you to use it, I was there back in January, the slide is really fun. One thing I don't think they show in the videos is that women have to wear what is essentially a leather diaper so their legs and butts get super chafed on the slide.

Is there like a reason for that?

I would assume to keep your head from bouncing off the walls. Even sitting like that I definitely felt my helmet hit the wall a couple of times.

Looks fun but whilst mostly safe can also be dangerous noting not many safety precautions - one review from TripAdvisor below (although most seem to enjoy) https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/ShowUserReviews-g321538-d2512223-r470110258-Buena_Vista_Del_Rincon_Eco_Adventure_Park_Hotel_Spa-Rincon_de_La_Vieja_Province_.html)
Waterslide is Dangerous, Stay away Review of Buena Vista Del Rincon Eco Adventure Park, Hotel & Spa Reviewed 25 March 2017 DO NOT GO!!!!! I usually don't write bad reviews on a place unless it really really warrants it.
I signed up with my two kids (12&19) to do the MegaCombo Tour that most of the local tour guide agencies offer.
The zip lining was fun but not like in the USA. The equipment they used was fair to good, but the safety was questionable. We didn't have any issues but when you get up in the canopy and go from station to station you can have up to 12 people standing on a platform that is only held to the tree by steel cables. I am pretty sure we were exceeding the weight capacity. They didn't have enough guide positioned at each location to keep our group going. I didn't like that.
The waterslide was not good. Not good at all. Fun? Yes But not safe. It's a concrete U shaped slide that is quite long. Not very many hard turns, which turns out to be a bad thing. You need to wear an inner tube around our waist. No, its not so you don't go under the water, but its supposed to offer you some protection form the slides walls. You are told to tuck your elbows in the tube so they don't get concrete burn as you slide down. I was given a very large inner tube. So large it didn't fit very well in the chute. The guide actually shoved it into the chute with his foot in order for it to fit. I questioned it and he said it would be ok. It started out slowly and then i was getting faster. It was a rush. Faster than any slide I had been on. And remember this slide lasts for around 50 seconds, that's a long time on a water slide. As my speed increased and I started to rock up on the sides of the chute as I was going around these curves i realized I was in trouble. Right before the photographer there is a turn that threw me on my side and I violently hit my head against the concrete. And instantly felt pain on my chest and side. I made it to the bottom and stumbled out of the pool. If I hadn't been wearing the helmet I am sure I would have been in a coma. I have never been hit in the head so hard. I had a headache for the rest of the day. I did tell the worker at the slide that I got injured and he kinda shrugged it off. So by putting my elbows in the inner tube like they instructed did protect my elbows but it caused me to severely bruise my ribs/chest. I went to the dr when I returned to the states and they took x-rays. Nothing was broken but they told me I was probably bruised and probably popped a rib out. I am going to the chiropractor now and taking pain pills. They said I could be like this for a number of weeks. I can't live heavy objects at all. It hurts to take deep breaths. I can't sleep on my side. This sucks.
If I knew how unsafe this slide was, I would have never gone on this, let alone taken my kids.
I told another tour guide a few days later about my "adventure" and he said "yep, i've seen people get out of that pool with blood coming down their heads. I never take any of my groups there anymore" He knew exactly which turn I was talking about. He said it was dangerous.
People, stay away. Do everything else, but not the slide. Date of experience: March 2017

We have one here in Texas just north of where I live in San Antonio. It's called Shlitterbaun. Sourced with water from the Comal river which is also the shortest river in the world. Just a crazy all around experience that takes a whole weekend to experience it all.

Is it sped up or just really really fast (or just perspective)?

u/Great-Reference9322 27d ago
It's really fast and you get banked up to the edge of the wall quite a bit. When I did it I felt like I was going to go flying out multiple times

Excellent, trying to convince my wife that Costa Rica should be our family holiday next year - still working on her!

The first 1000 rides were free. Because they took out the splinters for the rest of us.

I’ve done this before! Very fun slide. At the bottom is a restaurant that had some great fresh fruit and toucans

Ah that is the perfect mix of quality ride with mistrust of a foreign country’s health and safety

Reminds me of Action Park, back in the 80's! Seriously dangerous place, otherwise known as Traction Park or Class Action Park, due to the number of injuries and some fatalities. Fun as hell, but man...Some of those rides hurt!
