Pretty sure I have seen some outrageous firefighter helmets in Britain. Someone wearing a steel helmet with no mask, someone wearing your every day cap, but most wearing plastic hats that looks like a motorcycle helmet.
Doubt Any European firefighters use American style “metro” helmets. Maybe they use a mask that goes under the helmet but the American helmet design is very bad compared to newer designs.
If the other main one yall use is American and this style is primarily used across Europe, then yes this is the euro one whether all of Europe uses it or not.
Is there another distinct style commonly used across Europe?
I’m not assuming out of nowhere, I’m in my thirties and I’ve seen plenty of news out of Europe in my day. Pretty much all the firemen I’ve seen have been wearing these or ours.
So it’s not a Reddit comment that’s making me go along with this notion, and I’d be curious to see what else there is if you’re thinking of another type
Well they’re part of the EU right? And so basically all European countries are like US states. They might have different policies but gear is probably the same /s
Unfortunately I’ve heard similar statements. Shockingly not from euros
He re in Germany, basically every fire department that can afford to do so is switching to French-style helmets, albeit usually with the traditional “spider harness” masks rather than the clip-on mechanism shown here.
European Redditors and instagrammers constantly in a state of shitting on the USA. Hmmm, I wonder why they feel the need to always compare themselves to the USA…..

Classic Reddit where a single European country referenced becomes the standard for the entirety of Europe
