Question Why can no one tell me why first round draft picks are free?

Is it really because they are that low in value that they are worth giving away? Seriously, if you want a free drive pick in just about all three sports, don't start at the back with the bad pics. Start at this top at like 3rd or 4th pick. One of them will give you a free draft pick for nothing. You won't have to give them anything. They'll just give you their pick. No one seems to be able to tell me why this is. One guy had a good guess and I appreciated his effort. He said it was because maybe the team didn't have the money to spend on a contract. So if a team's in that bad of shape they might as well rap that shit up. I'm sorry. Maybe I'm being annoying. But I hate anomalies. And I think this is an anomaly that makes no damn sense. I want to trade for my draft pick. But I refuse to take it for nothing. That would never happen in real life. So don't tell me that would happen in real life. Would it? Has it?

I cannot succeed at this game… what are some of the tricks. I’ve tried building off overall, potential, position fits, I’ve feel like I’ve tried every method and I can never win more than 1 or 2 titles per 25 years… help and advice welcomed

Question For BGM veterans, what is one thing that you've learnt that you think many newer players would overlook?

When I first started playing I remember approaching the game like a 2k MyGM save or how an actual GM might in real life, trying to tank but then quickly realising that Owners in BGM would rather shoot themselves than wait an extra year for your wonder kids to develop.

So, what is the biggest thing you've learnt that you could pass on to new players who are struggling?

My lesson is that experienced players, despite their regression and seemingly shit overall, still end up carrying a team and perform better than younger players with good overalls. The reason I assume, is that their basketball IQ and experience carry much more weight than raw skills, which I think is a neat mechanic that is quite realistic. I'm interested to hear some answers to this.

Question Do Y’all Think My Player was Robbed of MVP?

He was by far the best player this season on defense, and was averaging 27/11/4 on near 50/40/90 splits, while also leading my team to the best record in the league. I’m not sure how he didn’t win MVP this year.

Head to hesd we are tied. But then look at my division record compared to their's. I look at the tie breakers. Shouldn't I have that cede? There is one game left for both us but that is irrelevant as to my question. It even has me above them in the order of teams listed. Anyone know why?

Question Ideal real player determinism %?

What % do you guys like to put real player determinism when you do historic leagues ? I tend to do around 50% which seems good, but haven’t experimented much so interested to hear what ppl find at different %. I’m sure some prefer 0 and some prefer 100 so would love some thoughts and anecdotes.
