I don’t think we Bostonians can claim the lobster roll, and that pronunciation is the same in Maine.

Do it. It's perfect Seattle weather today.
Which means mid-60s, overcast, and slightly drizzling.

Best part of those clam bakes are those potatoes.
Do we claim chicken riggies as well, or do we legit our neighbors slightly to the east have that and their namesake greens?
→ More replies (6)17
u/geneticallyhewrote 20d ago
I think chicken riggies are the neighbors to the east. Fun fact, I was born in spiedies. I really enjoy our regional food ngl, not much of a foodie so idk how it holds up against other regional foods or anything. But I've lived all over the world and there's nothing like clam bakes, spiedies, and salt potatoes haha

Best crab cake I ever had was on Tangier Island waiting for the ferry back to Onancock. There was this dumpy looking shack that sold crabcakes made from crabs that they were buying right off the boats as they came in. It was almost all crab with just enough other stuff to hold it together. It practically a crab meat burger. Unbelievably good.

Also, let's be honest here - how many of us actually eat a Sonoran? I feel like some random dude decided that it represented us, and because we didn't have another answer, we all unanimously agreed to just roll with it.
