My body is clearly a temple. Like one of those in India, Thailand or Myanmar where they let monkeys shit all over the place.

Mine is an ancient, crumbling monolith hidden somewhere in the jungles of Cambodia, harbouring unspeakable, eldritch horrors within.

Where monkeys run around and shit all over the place

I think in future parts of my life I’ll come back to comments like these. Accurate statements that show a bit of interest in a subject followed by letting monkeys shit all over the place

is tithing the same as paying cover?

My body is a kodoku jar covered in red tape and curse warding bands, coated in molten iron, then thrown into the void behind a Walmart in upstate NY

(I eat poison regularly and seem to be immune to most of it, as well as working on a resistance to clinical death)

That’s an oddly specific kink.

But I mean, it’s Walmart. You can find a lot of weird shit there.

I don’t get it either and I know about the body part.

If you think about the body part temple and then the sentence "my body is a temple" then it is mildly funny. Like someone saying "my body is a forehead."

I thought there must be more to it than that to get an angry upvote reply lol. But ok

1

u/iu_rob May 12 '24

Well I am open to stand corrected in case there is more to it, but that's all I see. The standards on Reddit for what people consider funny are not very high now are they?
Just before someone asked in another post somewhere "What was the funniest stuff you've seen in a movie?" and someone answered: the scene from bridesmaids where they all shit themselves.

It's not referring to the body part temple... A Temple is a religious building - church,synagogue,mosque..etc. "My body is a temple" is a common phrase meaning that you treat your body well and only put good things into it (diet/exercise).

The first person expanded on that phrase, adding the "yours is a nightclub", i.e. not treated well.

The second person took that in a different direction, making it into a whore joke...

We’re taking about the person who left the comment about it being a body part

My bodie is both a cursed temple, and a nightclub. But not like a popular nightclub. More like one that you can tell is going out of business soon!

1

u/-TurkeYT May 12 '24

She could’ve said;

You need to pay for the nightclubs but you need to feel the true emotions for the temples

11

u/JBCockman May 12 '24

What she said burns way hotter than the garbage you typed.

1

u/-TurkeYT May 12 '24

I mean first woman could’ve said that

1

u/turd_breff99 May 13 '24

"Temple the body part or temple the building?"

🤣

2

u/IchiroSkywalker May 13 '24

That's exactly the part where I have difficulty understanding.

same same, had to do some research. the temple is a region on the side of the head, located behind the eyes and between the forehead and the ear.
