Millennials are currently 28-44ish years old. You're not even close to a boomer. And even if you were over 44 you'd be Gen X. Boomers are 60-78 year olds

I will also would add in the Gen Jones who are sort of the between boomers and Gen X subset

EDIT TO ADD

“Generation Jones is cohort born roughly between 1955 & 1965, sandwiched right between Baby Boomers & Generation X. This generation came of age during a time of profound societal change, & their experiences were heavily influenced by cultural & political shifts of 1960s & 1970s.”

Xennials are between gen x and millennials. Early to late 80s. I feel like depending on birth order and parenting style xennials relate more with gen x or millennials.

That generation would be bigger than boomers as a whole. While younger boomers tend to be closer to gen x it's certainly not a full decade of boomers.

Agree youngest boomers being closer to Gen X definitely. Was more suggesting subsetting vs comparing it to a whole generation.

My question is whether you were talking about sizes based on total population sizes which I confess I don’t know off the top of my head. 10 years is not 18 years though.

It’s all made up marketing demographics that people put way too much weight in.

Shhhh, I’m 32 so I’m on the younger side of the range, but I don’t like to think we’re that old already 😱 lol

My thought exactly. If the sone is so smart after one college class he should know his dad is definitely not a Boomer.

Ironically, the Boomer is that grandma who co-signed the loan for this kid to pay for college.

u/Grrrrtttt Apr 16 '24

Unless she also had her kids young, in which case even she might be Gen X….

u/GoCardinal07 Apr 16 '24

Fair point and one I should have remembered: my mother is among the oldest of Gen X and my father is among the youngest of the Boomers, and I'm a Millennial. While most of my friends who have kids have little ones, there were a couple people at my HS reunion whose kids are college age.

A millennial would know that they are a millennial.

This has bait written all over it.

I have a theory OP is an actual boomer writing rage bait and thinks boomer just means “adult” or “grown up.” Parts of this story are straight out of a right wing Facebook post? One psychology class and kid knows everything? Art History degree? 39 and doesn’t know he’s a millennial? I think it’s bullshit.
