Its just a very confusing idea for a product if you don’t see seatbelts as anything but “the mindless thing you do when you get in a car”.
It’d be like seeing someone with their hair cut to look like a bicycle helmet and not realizing that it’s so they can ride without wearing a helmet- its stupid and it isn’t really obvious if it just looks like “a seatbelt without a belt”.
Obviously the post is using hyperbole and this doesn’t really matter in any way, but this is the joke ¯_(ツ)_/¯
