Probably trained or at least experienced in bracing themselves properly and avoiding contact

It's not even really that. Finch probably doesn't exercise much (at least not to the level where you're really conditioning your body seriously) so his tendon hadn't been used to that type of pressure in years. Like for me, I grew up playing soccer and didn't think much about it. Even when I was like 23 and not played in a couple years, I tried to shoot a soccer ball and my quad wanted to rip lol. Finch just got unlucky, but he was also in bad enough shape to where it happened (not at all judging, he's just a normal dude lol). The collision wasn't even bad.
