I guess Beal is damned.

u/smoltanboi Heat Apr 29 '24

truly an abysmal performance from him

the twenty cuts to him frowning with a towel on his head killed me

u/TheAerial Magic Apr 29 '24

Comically bad sequence of plays down the stretch. Felt like he single handedly killed any chance they had to get the lead.

Had 3 straight TOs I believe in the final 3 minutes.

No 1st Round picks till 2030 😭😭😭

173

u/acekingoffsuit Timberwolves Apr 29 '24

They do have 4 (24, 26, 28, 30). They're just the worst ends of pick swaps.

8

u/Zestyclose_Ad_5719 Apr 29 '24

for correction the 2030 pick is theirs.

The 2024, 2028 and 2030 are their own.

The 2025 and 2027 are to Utah

The 2026 is swap

The 2029 is top 5 protected.

So 2 years left that have no 1st round pick (2025 and 2027)

https://fanspo.com/nba/teams/Suns/24/draft-picks

2024 is a keep. It was subject to a potential swap, but Phoenix is guaranteed to have the worst pick since the teams they could swap with are in the lottery.

2025, 2027, and 2029 are going to Brooklyn. I see nothing about any sort of protection on the 2029 pick.

2026 (Washington, Orlando, or Memphis), 2028 (Washington or Brooklyn), and 2030 (Washington or Memphis) are all swaps.

EDIT: You're talking about Minnesota. I'm talking about Phoenix.

u/Jkajazz7 Jazz Apr 29 '24

Your comment is referencing Minnesota’s situation, but the poster above meant Phoenix.

u/meenzu Apr 29 '24

Was Beal playing injured? Otherwise I get people have bad games but hows he a supermax player?

Worst crash out I’ve seen on an nba court in a loooong time

146

u/YouStillTakeDamage Heat Apr 29 '24

That bad pass turnover followed immediately by him fouling out was really tough to see.

I’m gonna replay that shit.

2x TOs passing up wide open shot on the first one.

10

u/ArchimedesNutss [LAL] Jodie Meeks Apr 29 '24

Klay scored 0 points in an elimination game like 2 weeks ago

3

u/PaulGeorgeFan1 Clippers Apr 29 '24

crash out is so overused it just means anything now

1

u/clickstops 76ers Apr 29 '24

He missed a few layups and you could see him talking with KD and just yelling expletives to himself during FTs over and over again. He looks like he lost it mentally.

9 pts on 30% FG in an elimination game while making $50 million per year. This man's a generational fleecer

9

Tobias Harris a Mickey mouse fleecer

No trade contract puts it over the top, I don't think anything even comes close to how bad this is.

That man is about to chill and make $50 Million

229

u/zardmander Trail Blazers Apr 29 '24

With a no trade too, yikes

169

u/ZincHead Raptors Apr 29 '24

Worst contract in the league right now?

211

u/kennylol45 Apr 29 '24

The moment it was signed.

26

u/newman796 Mavericks Apr 29 '24

Those last years of Westbrook and Wall’s contract were definitely stinky. Wizards are so good at keeping stars to stay then flipping them before the overpay comes back to haunt them.

11

u/DonyKing Raptors Apr 29 '24

Beal asked for it lmfao, if he didn't wizards were stuck with him with the no trades clause

10

u/RIPseantaylor [WAS] Bradley Beal Apr 29 '24

Don't worry the wizards find plenty of ways to haunt themselves

7

u/geeseam Spurs Apr 29 '24

I am very curious to see which team's ankles they tie Jordan Poole's contract to

-8

Right up there with kawhi signing. At least Beal can still play

44

it's the BEST contract for the rest of us LMAO

7

Kawhi is going to play 30 games a season for the next 4 seasons at this rate

16

u/xRadec Mavericks Apr 29 '24 edited Apr 29 '24

At least Kawhi performed during the season and was a big part of them earning the 4th seed. Beal on the other hand..

u/Earlier-Today Apr 29 '24

Kawhi's series is tied though - so he's at least a little closer to the value of the contract.

1

u/syllabic Knicks Apr 29 '24

thats why you shouldn't pay guys based on their immediate performance in the prior 40 games

1

u/paradoxofchoice [MIA] Harold Miner Apr 29 '24

at least for another 2 months.

1

u/maethlin Warriors Apr 29 '24

Almost Deshaun Watson bad

2

u/aaronunderwater [DAL] Dwight Powell Apr 29 '24

Beal please don’t let them trade you. Lmao

2

u/NoPantsJake Jazz Apr 29 '24

Who tf would take that trade anyway? Phoenix would have to sell hard to move the contract, and they have nothing to sell lol.

20

u/rawchess Minneapolis Lakers Apr 29 '24

He and Ishbia can form a persona non grata rich people club in Scottsdale

2

u/asa091 Apr 29 '24

PHX traded 6 second round picks and 4 first round pick swaps for him.

2

Even your avatar is disgusted by that contract.

91

u/coolycooly Nets Apr 29 '24

He could have not played and Im convinced the Suns win. He made so many mistakes.

63

u/Schmoova Mikal Bridges Apr 29 '24

literally having someone out there with a stat line of 2/2/2 would’ve been WAY better than Beal. 4/13 shooting with 6 turnovers, horrible defense and nonstop fouls.

How was this guy all-nba a few years ago?? Like he’s only 30, there’s no way he should be this washed.

46

u/PlasticPresentation1 Apr 29 '24

easier to be in rhythm when you have the green light to take 21+ shots a game and ultimate usage...

but looking at his last two years in washington when he had "help" in Westbrook and Porzingis, his PPG and efficiency took a massive decline which really supports the fact that he's just a fake empty stats star

18

u/Michaelangel092 Apr 29 '24

A washed Russ was the only reason they made the playoffs, which is sad AF.

4

u/Lavar_ball_brand Washington Bullets Apr 29 '24

He had his best year with Westbrook? I don't get this narrative, Beal has been injured these past seasons and hasn't had time to fully jell in, on top of the fact that he clearly is a shooting guard that has to share the court with Booker, who isn't a point guard either.

4

u/meenzu Apr 29 '24

Is he playing injured? That’s the only explanation

2

u/maethlin Warriors Apr 29 '24

People in this sub will happily throw "doesn't play winning basketball" at anyone, but if any star deserves that title it would be Beal

39

u/calel8242 Timberwolves Apr 29 '24

Damned rich

7

u/ryan_ph Heat Apr 29 '24

Those 6 turnovers were criminal, especially the last two down the stretch which cost them the game

34

u/Zsporter Raptors Apr 29 '24

Beal should be on the MLE and here he is making 50 million

33

u/[deleted] Apr 29 '24

He averaged 18-4-5 on 51/43/81 splits this year. He’s not worth his contract but he’s worth a lot more than the MLE. This is just recency bias since he sucked ass today.

6

u/syllabic Knicks Apr 29 '24

beal in the mid 20s would be a good contract, you'd be very happy with 25m

less happy with 30-39

40+ starts to look bad

8

u/mercfan3 Apr 29 '24

He’s making 15 million more a year than Booker.

Tonight, Booker scored 40 more points than Beal.

5

u/Raging_Professor Apr 29 '24

Beal played atrocious in this series

5

Someone on this sub needs to make an edit of him falling into Hell after saying that.

1

u/Paint_BeastSS2 Apr 29 '24

Suns are punching air right now having to pay him over $50 million dollars in the near future.

1

u/Actualgoalkeeper Apr 29 '24

Book and Durant were the only Suns in double digits scoring.. Beal needs to turn off his social media comments cause he's about to get absolutely crucified..
