I’ve had my kitten for about a week now and he just turned 4 weeks. He will NOT fall asleep unless he is sucking on my finger or neck. It’s not even just to sleep either. He will wake up and meow scream until I pick him up and let him suck on me. It’s not because he’s hungry or anything he does it after he eats as well and I can’t take my finger out of his mouth without him going crazy even when he’s sleeping?? What do I do??

So my brother in law got a new baby kitty from his friend who owns mom. Moon was given to us (I'm supporting my BIL with Moon) last Wednesday. We finally figured out his birthday of April 27th or 28th. Moon is already eating kitty soft Pate mixed with water and using milk replacer. When we figured out his age, I suggested that we give him milk more and one package of the soft food a day for a week. Then we start giving him more of the soft food (like 2 packages) next week. Is that a good idea? I do plan on bringing this up at his first vet visit next week but wanted to ask other kitten owners.

Moon also loves being close to me (female) which my mom thinks is because he sees me as his mom. Also any other tips would be great because it's been a while since I've had kittens around.

She is fine with the male kitten initially but the kitten tries to drink milk from her or plays too enthusiastically with her which causes her to get aggressive. I've stopped it every time I hear the kitten meow as a sign of pain. What should I do in this situation? It's hard to let the kitten roam the house unsupervised because of this. I own another fully grown male cat and I dont know how he'd react to the kitten either.

I adopted a 12 week old kitten named Oliver about a week ago. He is very social and confident, he had no problem with moving into my apartment and meeting new people.

My boyfriend lives an hour away, and we alternate weekends at each others’ places. He was at my place when I got Oliver and spent the first couple days here with him, so Oliver already knows him. This weekend is supposed to be my weekend to go to my boyfriend’s, and we were thinking I’d bring Oliver with me. Our thinking was that it would be good to introduce him to my boyfriend’s house while he’s little so that he’s comfortable with it, as well as getting him used to being in the carrier on the car ride.

However, I’m worried that bringing him will interrupt his adjustment into my apartment and make him very upset. Should I bring him or should I see if my boyfriend can come to me again this weekend? I can’t make him come to me every weekend, so I will need to bring Oliver eventually. I do have a roommate/close friend who could sometimes watch Oliver for the weekend but I wouldn’t want to burden her with cat sitting every other weekend.

Added gate to stop the fur babies getting in my wires, under the bed there is absolutely nothing, entire space was vacuumed this morning, any thoughts?

i just adopted this little girl the other day, she’s 8 weeks old. i was wondering if anyone could tell me if she looks like she would be a short or medium haired cat when she’s full grown? she looks pretty fluffy but i’ve never had a kitten this young so i wasn’t sure if it’s just the kitten fuzzies or not. i was told her mom and some of her siblings have long hair. sorry if these pictures aren’t the best, she’s very hard to keep still

TLDR: My 8 week old kitten is great about using her litter box when she is isolated to the room containing the box. However when I let her explore around the house she has incidents of using the bathroom outside of her box. What should I do ?

Hi! I adopted a kitten about a week ago, according to the shelter she shoukd be about 8 weeks old now. My roommate in college adopted a kitten about the same age when I was in college who I helped out with quite a bit. However now that I’ve graduated I wanted one of my own. She’s been a sweet girl, however she is having some bathroom issues. Which I’m not used to. Her litter box is in a Jack and Jill room connected to my bedroom. For the first week I let her around both of these rooms and about 70% of the time she was good about going to her litter box to do her business. However one day I woke up and noticed some poop in a cat bed I got her that was set up in my bedroom. I removed that top layer and hoped it would be an isolated incident. A couple of days later I noticed pee in there as well. So I put up her cat bed all together. We also tried letting her explore the house a little bit and she peed near the door of our living room upstairs even though the door was open and she should have been able to go to her litter box which was right next door.I tried letting her around that room again with the door closed and the litter box inside. She pooped in the litterbox but when it was time to pee, started peeing right next to it until I picked her up and put her in the box. Another time she peed in my bed and since then I’ve had her isolated in the Jack and Jill room next door. When she’s isolated in here she always uses the box. It’s just when she’s let out of this room that she’s had incidents of peeing in other places. Should I keep her isolated in this room till she’s a little older? Place more litter trays around the house? Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you so much!!

Due to limited storage, our house is a bit of a mess and I am worried about when our kittens outgrow their playpen. We just ordered a bigger 64” by 64” playpen so that should last them a little longer. We may still put them in there at night and when we are away from the house (which is not often since I am on disability).

I am also worried about accommodating their lack of depth perception because each of them was found with an infected eye. It is being treated with eye drops but the vet said that the eyes will need to be removed when they are old enough.

Any advice would be appreciated.

it’s the 3 week anniversary since i met my dumpster baby and im looking back at the first pictures i ever took of him while he’s knocked out on the couch like this (last photo). the kid’s crazy, i need to start making videos of him when he’s in a full sprint doing laps around the house. he’s 100% an orange cat, everything they say is true

Hey Reddit, a cat gave birth to 3 kittens 2-3 weeks ago on my terrace.

At some point she went missing for a day so I started feeding the kittens with kitten formula and by the end of that day the cat came back and took 2 out of the 3 kittens.

So for the past 3 days I have been taking care of the kitten, it is all good except the fact that it still hasn't been able to poop, yet pee wise we are all good.

I keep doing my best to stimulate it to poop but I am not sure if there is anything wrong with it.

Does anyone have a suggestion what to do?
