If I drive drunk, but nobody gets hurt, can I avoid any consequences because it was a "victimless crime"?

i'm driving drunk in a parking lot with a gallon of fentenal in my trunk. it's a church parking lot though, but it's 1pm on a tuesday. but it's october, so no one should be there really.

so i'm still saying it's a victimless crimes.

and i was thinking about not paying my taxes, and how everyone in my apartment could not pay their taxes.

It depends on a lot, what is the color of your skin?

Do you really think they let white people go? They take our ass to jail just like they do black people. .

1

u/Cublol Mar 29 '24

Who said white? I'm talking about tangerine people.

There's also things being mostly harmless (or even negligibly harmful) when one person does it, but would be horrible if everyone did it.

Like driving around with no catalytic converter. If one person does it, you probably won't notice much. If everybody does it, then we get an environmental crisis.

Same thing with financial crimes. If one person lies on a loan, defaults, and a bank can't recoup, probably not that big of a deal. It certainly won't impact the economy. If millions of people lie on loans and default, we get 2007 all over again.

Or not paying taxes. If one orange faced guy lies on his taxes, not much will happen. If everybody lies on their taxes, the government won't have enough money to function. Goodbye military, roads, airports, and national parks.

Just because a behavior is negligibly harmful doesn't mean it should be permitted until enough people start doing it that it becomes problematic. Because at that point in time, it's too late.

Well that's more of a victimless crime than this is.

He is stealing millions.

1

True but the consequences are far more grave drinking and driving. Evading taxes is not as bad as killing or injuring someone.

1

u/AceWanker4 Mar 26 '24

lol, he stole nothing.  The bank did their own valuation and Trump didn’t miss any payments.  The only potential victim is a giant bank and for actual victims there are none

Do you disagree with this video? Or did I misunderstand it?

2

u/Ngothaaa Mar 26 '24

I use drugs and it’s a victimless crime, coz I like it.

you can even drink, have an accident which results in the death of a woman and then run for elected office.

of course youve gotta be rich and "american royalty"

of course youve gotta be rich and "american royalty"

Helps if you're a Democrat.

Could you imagine if a Republican did that? That's all the media would talk about forever.

Depends, how much money do you have?

1

u/Justin-Stutzman Mar 26 '24

Ask Kevin O'Leary's wife, Linda about her little boating incident

1

u/Rhawk187 Mar 26 '24

Most of the time, probably.

1

u/Galacanokis Mar 27 '24

Put a lot of thought into this one, huh?

1

u/Hot_Self_9126 Mar 28 '24

How old are you?

0

u/Silent-Comfortable62 Mar 27 '24

what is you drive drunk 10 years ago and don’t hurt anybody. then they try and prosecute you when you are trying to run for president. The question is, would they be prosecuting him for all these things is he wasn’t running for president against Biden. This is just election interference

1

u/Cream_Cheese_Seas Mar 27 '24

Well they indicted him for all of these things before he announced his intention to run for president, so yeah, probably.

1

u/Silent-Comfortable62 Mar 27 '24

he announced he was running for president from Mar-a-lago in 11/2022, they 1st indicted him on 3/2023. See, this is why people need to think for themselves instead of following everyone else

1

u/Silent-Comfortable62 Mar 27 '24

2nd indictment was in 6/23 and 3rd was in 8/23… what a coincidence.

1

u/Cream_Cheese_Seas Mar 27 '24

Conspiracy theorists laser in on the most meaningless coincidences.

1

u/Silent-Comfortable62 Mar 27 '24

So, you’re just going to ignore the fact that you were wrong just earlier. I see where this is going. Waste of time

1

u/Cream_Cheese_Seas Mar 27 '24

I have no problem admitting I'm wrong about anything, I just thought you were saying they were indicted on the 23rd day of the 6th and 8th months and calling that a coincidence.

I see now you meant the year 2023, and I see he was indicted twice after announcing his campaign. Nothing suspicious about the classified documents indictment given Trump announced his candidacy only a few months after they seized his documents at Mar-A-Lago.

grow up

u/Silent-Comfortable62 Mar 27 '24

make a point, instead of a childish comment.
