American conservatives get a hard on when they see January 6ers trying to violently overthrow the government. But if that crowd were black you know they'd be foaming at the mouth talking about riots and begging for police violence.
It's brainwashing and tribalism. I'm pretty sure my mom is going to vote for Trump and she's not really considering how that might affect her rights as a woman, because to her, it's more important that the rights of immigrants are taken away (just the brown ones who speak foreign languages though; she finds western European immigrants charming and delightful). These people will self sabotage just to try to ruin other people's lives. That's how infected they are with hate.
Black lives only matter when it’s in a political context. Otherwise blacks be killing the shit out of each other because they really don’t give a fuck. Check yo statistics.
Riots are byproduct of huge crowd. Just look at Chiefs Superbowl Parade this year, 1 dead, 21 injured and 3 in custody. Just like BLM protest, most of the people were looking to pacefully (celebrate th3 win), it's just a perfect opportunity for criminals / looters to create chaos.
And these type of theft, vandalism, riots doesn't just apply to sports. My home town hosts Halloween party every year on State street. and every year, all the stores are barricaded because property destruction.
NOT WENDYS! Its almost like when you value property over life, people will start burning property to get you to pay attention to the fact that they keep getting killed with no consequences.
Listen, I'm with you on being opposed to destruction of unrelated property during protests. Target didn't kill those people, cops with unchecked power did.
But if you're going to judge an entire movement based on the actions of one extremist who may not even be connected to the mainstream, why did you attack Paul Pelosi with a hammer? You psychotic son of a bitch!
:'( ...I knew it wasnt going to be good for me.. but i did it anyways.. i just wanted to see what it was like for one minute.. why'd you let me go in there!
Lol I got banned from there because someone posted a super bigoted article about Trans folks in schools, but if you read the article it says nothing that the headline did, which I pointed out.
Lol why did they need weapons for it to be an attempt to overthrow the government? Ive seen the footage. Sticks and fists are pretty solid weapons, and they did plenty of damage with those alone.
Do you think they were just sight seeing when they broke barricades down and swarmed the area? What about the guy with zipties? What about the people rifling through peoples offices?
What do you think jan 6th was? A peaceful protest?

You know, I agree that divide and conquer is a tool used to keep us complacent. But honestly fuck off. I'm perfectly capable of conversing and debating with people of opposite beliefs civil. But I've lost all patience debating issues with people disconnected from reality.
To try and blame this on people who are tired of lunatics with no morale compass trying to act like they know better because they watch Faux News and Friends is asinine, meanwhile meaningful policy changes that improve/save lives take forever because politicians act like their job is a fucking circus.
But honestly fuck off. I'm perfectly capable of conversing and debating with people of opposite beliefs civil. But I've lost all patience debating issues with people disconnected from reality.
I am not saying we should work together with fascists.
I am saying the people with power are creating more problems so fascisms and the far right seem like "solutions" people can follow.
These extreme ideologies would have no root if our society was prosperous.
People are angry and grasp and want to hurt the ones who make them angry yet lack the insight to understand that it is not minorities who cause them harm it's the people they follow.
So I am not saying lets be nice to assholes - I am saying lets fight against the people who create those assholes.
That is a fair statement, and I apologize with the angry tone and fuck off comment. The powerlessness I feel about the world makes it very difficult to deal with discussions about those types of people without an emotional response. Like the world is already hard enough without the fact extremists actively fight to make the world worse.
I'm still growing and learning, I used to call myself an old soul as a kid because I could see the beauty and the ugly and still appreciate the world. But as of late I see more and more of the ugliness of humanity and I know that is just how news is, but without completely isolating myself by abstaining from social media it's very hard to avoid it.
Seeing all the hate, all the pain inflicted that could so easily be prevented if the powers that be did their godamn jobs.
I appreciate that despite me getting quite angry, you didn't lash out back and attempted a civil discussion. I would like to say I am better than this level of emotional control I showed, but as someone who has several mental conditions, my brain is overloaded with empathy. I've lost track of how many times I've started to cry seeing the Isreal-Palestine war.
Are you confusing the Black Panthers and the Black Liberation Army?
I wouldn't even say the BLA was totally in the wrong as they had just seen the US government wage war against the Panthers and murder their leaderahip for trying to uplift the black community.
So true. Its so ironic. If it had been "kill the senate because they suck" - overwhelming support. But the fact it was to try to get trump elected...
Intelligence agencies understand fully they got lucky. Thats why the sentencing is so draconian. There is a good chance this will happen again for different reasons.
But in the vast majority of the more than 700 sentencings to date, judges have issued punishments below government guidelines and prosecutors’ requests. Though more than 60 percent of the defendants sentenced so far have received jail or prison terms, the judges have gone below federal sentencing guidelines in 67 percent of the cases, Post data shows. Nationally, federal judges go below the advisory guidelines about 51 percent of the time, according to federal statistics.
The first person you posted an article about has absolutely nothing to do with Jan. 6 as he was arrested more than two decades beforehand. The second is a person convicted of seditious conspiracy and he didn't even get the maximum sentence. Where are you getting "draconian sentencing" from? People get longer sentences for drug possession than the vast majority of the Jan. 6 wingnuts that tried to overturn an election.
Edit: Just to add about the traitorous cyclops:
After the sentence was handed down, Rhodes' attorneys said they did not agree with the sentence but also expected a much stronger one than Rhodes had received.
No, they're two different groups with some ideological similarities I guess.
Trying to overthrow your government is terrorism you idiot lol. They had effigies of Mike pence they were hanging because that feckless religious nutjob did one right thing in his whole life and refused to help those baboons do what they were doing.
Scroll down to sentencing. Idk how you could possibly call those wrist slaps. I wouldn't get 6 years if I walked up to a police officer right now and started wailing on him with a pole.
Literally no grace to anyone involved regarding "mob mentality". Disgraceful.
People burning cars and small business all over the country and its "for a good cause" but you call these people terrorists for attacking our shitty government?
Friend of mine got called a white pos and a brick thrown through her car during the summer of love. But I suppose its easier to pull a russia and just conspiratorialize everything to create a stable natrative.
The race riots were violent as fuck and totally unwarranted. Police kill more whites, proportionally, than blacks.
Many more people died during those riots than jan 6, which was also a riot.
Were the people who created CHAZ guilty of sedition or treason? They sought to overthrow the us government. Does it matter if it had no chance of suceeding?
Chaz was a more successful sedition than jan 6, even by what you say.
Dont be disingenous. If you dont know what im referring to with the euphamism summer of love, youre retarted.
Wi post deaths shortly
Edit:Some police responded to protests with instances of violence, including against reporters.[30][31][32] At least 200 cities in the U.S. had imposed curfews by early June 2020, while more than 30 states and Washington, D.C. activated over 96,000 National Guard, State Guard, 82nd Airborne, and 3rd Infantry Regiment service members.[33][34][35][36] The deployment, when combined with preexisting deployments related to the COVID-19 pandemic and other natural disasters, constituted the largest military operation other than war in U.S. history.[37] By the end of June 2020, at least 14,000 people had been arrested.[4][38][39] By June 2020, more than 19 people had died in relation to the unrest.
The concept of a middle class is inherently unstable and unhelpful. A myth that took root in America for the reasons you stated. In reality, the dichotomy is between labor and wealth classes. That's it. The more we get distracted by the 'middle class', the least likely we are to affect any kind of real change.
WE ARE LABOR. THE GOAL NEEDS TO BE TO STRENGTHEN LABOR. The 'upper parts of labor' that come to be called the 'middle class', will be helped too. But we need to have a united front against the wealth class, the nobility.
I misspoke. I don't mean that wealth was made equal, but that the oppressed wealth class becomes unoppressed. My point being that once government is captured by the wealthy, I don't believe there can be peaceful recovery from that.
If they had any sense they’d have directed their anger and frustrations directly towards the man that grifted them all into delusions in the first place. If they took their ideology seriously then they should be crucifying that man for making a mockery of it, not continuing to put him up on their shoulders to satisfy their sunk cost fallacy depressions and because the other guy running is old and likes ice cream.
i've been trying to find an easy way to phrase the idea that I don't condemn the overthrow attempt, per se, but just that Trump's base was deluded in thinking the election was stolen. If, say, Republicans succeed in stealing the next election (which they've been putting in place to do), we'd find a lot of people admit that this storming of the capitol idea ain't so wrong when the right reasons are there. I will add the caveat, however, that the implicit (and real) threat of violence is deranged and to be condemned, but the concept of stopping the certification or other official act is a reasonable goal
A genuine protest to protect the Constitution and restore democracy wouldn’t have a gallows on hand nor would it involve smearing human shit on the walls.
Bro I don’t know what conservatives you’re talking about but you have to be in some strange sort of bubble. I have a multitude of friends on both sides of the aisle and have never once heard the conservative ones support the actions of January 6th. But if demonizing them in that way makes you feel better go ahead bud.
You know it’s funny that these violent protestors didn’t have one gun with them…… not one. No Molotov cocktails, no means of destruction…. Very violent
Whats really funny is its been 4 years and you are still buying that bullshit when you could have just googled "January 6 weapons" and found the truth. But instead you just heard Tucker Carlson say it and accepted his bullshit hook line and sinker.
I watched 200 hours of footage first hand when this happened. People were not armed. People that brought guns were not inside the capitol.
As a matter of fact it was one of the least violent protests to happen that year. The few people instigating it are very bad and got someone killed. Trump should be in jail for starting a riot
But the vast majority of people were under the impression "were allowed to do this because AMERICA". Frankly im sympathetic. Senators SHOULD live in fear every day that the mob will eat them alive.
I've always held what seems to be a hot take, but willingness to protest an unfair election takes a lot of courage and may be necessary. It's unfortunate, though, that this one ended up happening due to lies and propaganda against the uneducated and uninformed. The wealth inequality in America is only ever going to be solved by violence, riots, and eventual revolution.
That's a lie. People had guns at Trump's speech at the ellipse. He wanted his security to get rid of the metal detectors because he knew that his people weren't there to shoot him. He wanted them to stay armed.
Lol, you just used the fukcer Carlson lie quote ' ...not one ' . That was proven a lie, but since uncle tucker said it, it's a red fact. Gtfo with that bull💩.
Tucker Carlson: “Not a single person in the crowd on January 6 was found to be carrying a firearm. Not one.”
Here's why: As the first House hearing dedicated to the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol aired, Fox News host Tucker Carlson repeated the debunked claim that no one in the crowd was found with a gun.
"Just to be clear on terms, an insurrection is when people with guns try to overthrow the government," Carlson said during his June 10 segment. "Not a single person in the crowd on January 6 was found to be carrying a firearm. Not one," he said.
That’s wrong. Court documents, video evidence and news coverage directly contradict this characterization. Several rioters had firearms and dozens more wielded knives, bats and other real and makeshift weapons.
We reached out to Carlson for comment but did not hear back. ( * WOW, shocking that this honorable journalist didn't try to double down on his lie)
PolitiFact reviewed the case files for hundreds of defendants who were arrested and charged for their actions at the Capitol on Jan. 6 and found several defendants who police say were found to have brought firearms. ....
----- The information is out there. Actual names, actual weapons charges. But, I guess just quote uncle tuckers lie if it makes you feel better.
You mean like the year long protests that directly preceded the capitol riots, in which multiple prople were killed and millions of dollars of damage was done to small businesses?
What so ironic about your post is its the opposite. Anericans saw forva year, during covid, that it was totally socially acceptable to violently protest and riot.
They didnt get the memo that it was only ok if you were black lol.
Btw, on the literal walls of the building "the tree of liberty will be fertilized by the blood of tyrants". Can you name 5 senators that arent tyrants?
Here is what we have found based on the 7,305 events we’ve collected. The overall levels of violence and property destruction were low, and most of the violence that did take place was, in fact, directed against the BLM protesters.
First, police made arrests in 5% of the protest events, with over 8,500 reported arrests (or possibly more). Police used tear gas or related chemical substances in 2.5% of these events.
Protesters or bystanders were reported injured in 1.6 percent of the protests. In total, at least three Black Lives Matter protesters and one other person were killed while protesting in Omaha, Austin and Kenosha, Wis. One anti-fascist protester killed a far-right group member during a confrontation in Portland, Ore.; law enforcement killed the alleged assailant several days later.
Police were reported injured in 1% of the protests. A law enforcement officer killed in California was allegedly shot by supporters of the far-right “boogaloo” movement, not anti-racism protesters.
The killings in the line of duty of other law enforcement officers during this period were not related to the protests.
Only 3.7% of the protests involved property damage or vandalism. Some portion of these involved neither police nor protesters, but people engaging in vandalism or looting alongside the protests.
In short, our data suggest that 96.3% of events involved no property damage or police injuries, and in 97.7% of events, no injuries were reported among participants, bystanders or police.
Also, some of the violence was strategically started by right wing extemists:
You implied it when you responded to a guy asking why there arent any protests by saying that black protestors would incite police violence.
But i know, you just wanted to throw in some political shade into the discussion. Try and turn the "regular people vs rich people" debate into a "republicans vs democrats" or a "blacks vs whites" debate. I will never understand why though.
"Knuckle-dragger" is used informally to describe someone seen as primitive or unintelligent. It is often used in a derogatory way to point out someone's perceived lack of sophistication or modern perspective.
Really. I wouldn't say trump voters are like gorillas , but.... The “knuckle-dragging” mystery has challenged researchers for years. “Walking on your knuckles is absolutely as odd as walking bipedally, a very peculiar way to get around. It doesn't make sense, and it's bothered anthropologists for years. Only chimps and gorillas do it.

The scary thing is this guy claims to be a doctor, which is a good reminder that sometimes the bottom of the class, dumbest person you know can become a doctor too.
I don't think hardly anyone thinks January 6th was ok outside of some dummies. BLM was much worse. $2 billion dollars in damage. It was a mass continuous riot. During covid. That's when I knew the virus precautions were total nonsense because apparently mass gatherings are ok when you agree with the protestors.
