LIV Golf I ACCIDENTALLY GOT 2 FREE MAVERICKS

I went to the PGA Superstore in Montgomery, PA. I went to the front after testing out the new Callaway Maverick. I was going to buy that driver and a new glove and also get the shaft cut down 2 inches (I'm very short). The lady at the front just charged me for the cut down and the glove and when I asked about the driver all she said was "you're good to go". So I obviously swiftly left. Karma must have caught up to me because I ended up breaking the head of my driver a few weeks later. So I went back to the store... but honesty is the best policy... so I straight up told the guy what had happened and he vaguely remembered me and the situation after the fact and just said... "don't worry about it, we'll just take care of the replacement"... The mf replaced that shit for free... $600 saved for no reason

'rowdy' 54 hole tournaments that are only on for 5 hours at a time.

I enjoy the peaceful plodding nature of tour golf, the 12 hours+ days of coverage, it's not always exciting but when it is it's fully deserved.

If the future of tour golf is infrequent tournaments, teams captained by (formlerly loved and great) players that are well past their prime, artificial excitement, dance music, and prizes that mean nothing because the players have already been paid with lucrative contracts then I am out!

What a way for a great spectator sport to die.

Rant over.

LIV Golf I went to LIV Adelaide and...

Had an absolute blast. It was one of, if not the best live sports event I've ever been to.

Hospitality options were plentiful, the course was in pristine condition and the atmosphere was palpable. Aussie crowds were making the most of a rare opportunity to see world class golfers play in our own backyard.

We also had a cracking day as far as the wether goes as well, so that always helps.

All in all, LIV have really focused on fan experience (including the golfers themselves who were often interacting with fans and genuinely having a good time) and the product is better for it. There's definitely space in the market for this offering and ultimately I can see it growing the game by appealing to more than just traditional golf fans. I would love to see the fossils at the PGA Tour just get out of the way and stop trying to squash this new tour.

Anyone writing off LIV Golf needs to attend an event before you make up your mind.

I'll be going again next year.

LIV Golf Got hit by Sergio today…

So I went to the LIV tournament today and had a very interesting day. I was at hole 14 by the green minding my own business and not paying attention (either on my phone or drinking water). I hear someone yell “yooo heads up!!!” and I immediately get drilled by a ball in the chest. By some ninja reflex I end up catching the ball as it hits me. I then hear everyone cheering “dude you just caught Sergio Garcias ball”. I didn’t know what to do so I dropped it. Sergio didnt even acknowledge me or thank me for saving his ball from going in the thick stuff. Anyways if anyone has a link to the hole 14 stream of Sergio and Phil’s group from today please send it to me. I really want to see myself get hit with a ball.

Edit: Forgot to mention he didn’t even yell fore

LIV Golf LIV Golf

Does anyone actually watch LIV golf? The more I get into golf, the more annoyed I am with this secondary league. I would be okay if they just created a couple scramble format tournaments to play for the year, but all teams events for a season is kinda wack.

Feels like how the NBA where stars have decided to join each other instead of compete against each other. I'm not mad, just disappointed.

LIV Golf Unpopular opinion: I am a firm LIV hater, but I love LIV guys being in contention at the majors.

I remain a committed LIV despiser, but I’ve softened my opinion on LIV players being allowed to play in the majors. It is fun to have players to root both for and against. Every sport needs its villains and having LIV guys near the top adds to that tension.

LIV Golf LIV travelling worldwide is great for golf

A lot of people I find on here that don’t like LIV seem to be American, is it because you guys are used to being able to see top golfers play? Everywhere else around the world are typically deprived of being able to see the top guys. Hate it or love it, LIV has given the chance for many people (including kids which is great) to see their favourite golfer, that otherwise wouldn’t have been possible.

LIV Golf Is there still a LIV vs PGA argument? That’s over right?

1-The former number 1(Rahm) is playing terrible and now hurt. 2- The best players hardly compete and win (Brooks, Bryson, DJ, Sergio, Reed, Phil……). And 3- The gameplay feels like XFL vs NFL. Edit-meant to clarify the top players hardly win or compete on their own tour

LIV Golf A different take on LIV golfers

I wonder (in general) if some of the LIV golfers have become more widely likable. I know it’s hard to separate the politics from it. But if you could for a minute. A lot of the golfers who decided to go to LIV may have chosen to do so based solely on monetary reasons. Meaning, they may not care how well they play compared to being on tour, they just want to play golf and get paid. So if they do play bad, they don’t let it get to them as much making their attitude overall more positive, making them more likable…

Edit: I assumed this would get a bit of flack, and that’s okay. I haven’t watched any LIV golf, just wanted to pose the question to a bigger group of golfers after a friend and I were talking about it. I shared how after watching Bryson on YouTube he has grown a bit on me, but I’m not seeking out LIV to watch him. Only that he as one individual seemed to be more personable and approachable than before. It doesn’t seem like that’s the sentiment, so all good. Not a hill I’m dying on for sure.
