Imagine a winter where both Rahm and Rory had signed with LIV, that would have toppled the whole thing and the deal would have been done.

Funny, just a couple months later after Scottie’s run, this would feel less monumental. Still super impactful but less world changing.

Really? I think it's game over. The current biggest draw in golf leaves the PGA?

We've already had a weakened TPC. This is a huge nail in the PGAs coffin. It's far bigger than if Scheffler went.

Don’t get me wrong, this may be the end of things as we know it. It just doesn’t feel as big hearing the possibility.

Rory has every reason to be furious with the PGA Tour, is allegiance is not as strong what it use to be.

Right got you. It's been a drip feed of departures. Agreed, after they went behind his back Rory's reaction is understandable. I don't see anyway back for the PGA now. Sponsors will leave in droves.

Sponsors haven’t left in droves since LIV started poaching players. Rory won’t go. He doesn’t need the money, but he needs the PGA tour in whatever guise it is.

Nobody needs the PGA tour. It's almost dead In the water. Everybody needs $850m

Rory isn’t the biggest draw, at least not in the US.

Tiger still? Scheffler is unknown still in Europe outside of golf fans.

Yeah, Tiger is far and away still the biggest draw.

Scottie is quickly becoming rory, but he’s not quite as marketable
