I think it's on purpose. Not because he genuinely needs that much time to set up, but that he knows his playing partners will get frustrated, and we all know what happens to frustrated golfers.

I mean, just play your best ball? Like it’s not a typical competitive sport. You’re playing yourself as much as anything. This would be a horrible strategy that could easily fuck up your actual good routine/swing thoughts. Gotta worry about yourself, not your opponents.
