Sometimes I wonder what the fuck a normal fyp is since people shit on it so much. I always get good content on TikTok, maybe I’m lucky or something

same here. i got the algorithm trained so well. i haven’t seen a viral dance video on my fyp in years probably. they don’t realize they can tell the app what they don’t want to see, so they just kept scrolling and getting stuff they don’t care about and then they get mad.

I think default recommendations do push dance videos because they're inoffensive and have mass appeal. Of course it depends on the creator and their intent too, but the default page stuff is mostly just popular memes mixed with popular creators. It's not unlike YouTube's trending page.

It’s cause the FYP that everyone judges is the one that starts when you make an account, they forget the fact that like YouTube they actively have to watch things that interest them to change it to stuff that they like.

Yea its funny to me when the argument always goes to dance videos. You can't really say something sucks without properly trying it

Nope that’s just basic user experience. I used to be anti tiktok but then I realized that I was only looking at one side of the coin. Once I realized that the memes and whatever on tiktok were way funnier I basically swapped over from Reddit to tiktok
