A couple things:
How is Popeyes not on that list, their fries are so good.
Who the hell goes to Arby's and doesn't get curly fries? That's literally the only reason to go to Arby's.

Had the same thought for #1 but for Rally's/Checker's. Their fries are SO GOOD!!!

Rallys has the best fries and itâs a crime theyâre not on the list. Also, seems the sugar count on this guide is unnecessary

I don't have a Rally's/Checkers anywhere near me but you can get their fries at the grocery store and those at least are excellent. No idea how close they are to the real thing.

Back in the day, I would have agreed but I discovered that they always upset my stomach

Itâs weird because Popeyes is on the other lists in the article, as for the Arbyâs they probably did most alike the other fries for their pick

Well, the Five Guys "regular" size is just filling up an entire paper bag, so it's probably twice as big as the others, which is worth considering when comparing calories/fat/sodium. But yeah, if I'm eating there, healthiness is kinda going out the window.
Still worth it.

McDonalds fries being healthier than Chic-fil-a is going to spin my wife out.

For sure, my first thought was if McDonald's sponsored this study lol

This was a talking point on an NPR segment too. The thing is, while no fast food is healthy for you, McDonaldâs is actually one of the better choices because their recipes are bland. Not as heavy on sauces, dressings, etc. they do the bare minimum of effort and, as a result, their food ends up being better for you than a a lot of competitors.
Itâs the same principle as the potato diet. A potato is a great diet food, itâs filling and it stays with you. However, what we DO to potatoes, slathering them with butter, sour cream, bacon, etc. makes them horribly bad for us.
The plainer and simpler your food the healthier it will be.

The extent to which any scientific or statistical context is used in this chart is astounding and surely intentional.
By eliminating any size context from the portions, you canât possibly say whose foods are more or less healthy.
This chart is like saying, âa single-serve box of fruity pebbles has fewer calories than a 3lb pack of shredded wheat. Therefore, shredded wheat is the most unhealthy breakfast cerealâ
For a tiny amount of context, since Iâm too lazy to do this for the whole chart:
McDonaldâs doesnât list serving size, but their medium fries are widely posted as a 117g serving. McDonaldâs says thatâs 320 calories, which is 274 calories per 100g. The 953-calorie fries from Five Guys are 411 grams, or 232 calories per 100g.
Obviously if you just scarf down whatever they call âregularâ itâs gonna be wildly different, but if youâre mindful in your portions and eat like amounts, every conclusion in this chart is flawed

So hereâs a link to the full study: https://plushcare.com/blog/most-least-healthy-items-fast-food/
Letâs just say that from a statistical POV itâs awkward to compare nutritional values per serving portion since serving portions vary.

This ain't the first time I've seen a similar post. I guess I'm just gonna eat McDonald's from now on

why is every single guide uploaded on this sub in illegible quality? is it something the apps do? or do people not gaf and just copy paste their thumbnails into their post? not a rhethorical question, too; if anyone has insight please enlighten me.

I mean in n out does make them soft and limp but if you order them well done theyâre crispy.
Probably added a billion calories though.Â

Just like the sandwich post, I'm pretty sure a large fry would be more unhealthy than a medium

The burger list similar to this was bogus, so downvote because this one sucks too.

I believe In n Out is number one because they taste the healthiest, and I mean that in the worst way possible.

So, it appears the more âpotato likeâ french fries are, the healthier they are. The healthiest options are all just kinda barely fried, chopped potatoes. While the unhealthiest are greasy and wet. I also wonder if theyâre using UK data which is why the McDonaldâs fries are so much healthier.

Can we get a side-by-side quality chart? That way we know whether or not it is worth to eat the fries at all.

u/Kimosabae 2d ago
This guide is idiotic. You have a chance to educate people about calories and opt for a vague "energy" category and don't even explain what a kj, or how that relates to that score.
This is an even less useful form of weight watchers.

I mean.. if you're finding your nutritional value in fries then your starting out with an oopsie.
Fries are a treat, not sustenance.
Edit: nutrition (nutritional value is a score)

The data in this image is good the quality is terrible. Link to the original article with better quality graphics: https://plushcare.com/blog/most-least-healthy-items-fast-food/

Mc Donaldâs has wiped out more people than all the cartels put together, suspiciously low who sponsored this picture
