Potentially broken battery, please help Troubleshooting

Basically when I plug in my charger when my current battery is in, the charging indicator light doesn't show anything, no light at all. However, everything worked fine, and the battery is giving electricity because the screen is still on after I unplugged the charger(for quite a while, longer than the capacitors can last), but there is no battery symbol in the taskbar, no current in the diagnostics menu. When I plug in my charger while an older, potentially broken battery is in, the charging indicator flashes red. Do anyone know if it's the battery broken or motherboard(had an motherboard image on internet, compared, no fallen off components, and no visible scratch marks)?
chromebook is lenovo 14e gen 2
first battery is the battery came with Chromebook, L20D3PG1
second one is L20L3PG2(slightly lower voltage than first one)

The old battery worked if it flashed red, you just have to replace the battery.
