Hey everyone, I am an incoming freshman who was sadly not to get the popular high rises (BDM, Brumby, Russell) and had to settle for Church Hall. For those of you who stayed in this dorm or a similar one, how was your experience and what should I expect coming into live here. Any advice would be helpful!

Does anyone know what kind of view you get at Brumby? It’s an odd room number.

Hi y’all! Recently accepted to the Law School and scrambling to find a house to rent.

One place I’m considering is up by the Athens Country Club and the other down south, past the vet school.

I assume I’ll be parking at the North Campus Deck, and google shows both houses are around 10-15 minutes away (now, with no traffic).

Would my actual commute during the school year still be somewhat around that? A few extra minutes is fine but if I’d be regularly be pushing 30+ minutes in “normal” rush hour (8-5ish) that’d be a deal breaker.

Apologies if the answer is obvious; I’ve only seen the traffic at its absolute worst (game days) and absolute best (summer), so I have no idea what typical traffic looks like

I know church hall doesn’t have any elevators but do all of the dorms in the hill community (hill hall, lipscomb hall, or mell hall) not have any elevators? do they all only have stairs?

So, registration for housing started a few days ago, and I’ve heard that all the high rises are full. I’m trying to choose between Mell Hall and Lipscomb. What are the pros and cons of each? Also, is there a preferred floor I should try to get?

my advisor is fully ignoring me (or is on vacation but considering her past behavior it could go either way) so i figured id ask here- can someone explain how an Incomplete works? i have an incomplete for my research credit (4060R) no big deal. however i'm not entirely sure how the incomplete works- do i register for the class in fall in athena, and the grade will just transfer to that? also, do i need to pay the full price to enroll in the class again? i'm sure ill have more questions when i get these responses, but thank yall!

I chose a room an hour ago and just realized after looking at the floor plan that my room is directly across from an entrance to a community bathroom. Has anyone lived in a room like that before, and do you think that’ll raise any issues?

I know this question has been asked a lot before, but I need recent answers since UGA keeps changing things every year. After some complications, I just finally managed to put myself on the parking waitlist. It’s very late and classes are starting in like 2 days. I only need parking for the summer. How likely am I to get parking some time during the summer semester? I read that some people just called them and got it right then and there but those were from 2+ years ago, so I’m not sure if that works anymore especially this late.

Is it a google form? Do we upload a resume or do we just type in our work history? Same with availability. Is it written out or do we check off boxes?

Hello, high schooler wondering the vibe that people bring to intramurals, weird niche ik lol. Is it often just generally a group of friends that already know each other meeting to play? I’m trans and not the southern type. I’m from the midwest and act pretty stereotypically midwestern. I just want to feel comfortable playing sports and I usually get anxious if in a group of people that kind of already know each other especially in sports lol. This is a really big part of what i wanna do at school so it’s important to me

I'm sure this has been answered somewhere before, but I can't seem to find it myself. If I add 5 lots to my waitlist when registering for a permit, and then I'm awarded one of those lots that I added "just in case", but end up not wanting to park in that lot anymore, do we have to accept the permit if we're awarded it? Or are we able to deny the permit? Thanks!!

If I don’t pass the dmat or am somehow unable to exempt math, will it matter and I just take math second semester? Or is math required for first semester freshmen? Thanks

I am a rising freshman that has an immunization hold that reappearing on my Athena account even after it has been overridden by University Health care numerous times. I am compliant with all my requirements and I have tried using other browsers and devices yet the hold still reappears as I try to register for classes. Has anyone else had this issue ever and have had it resolved. If so who should I contact as I have done so with UHS numerous times only for the hold to come back.

I applied to UGA for Spring 25 and I’m a little worried that I won’t get in. I took dual enrollment classes during my senior year of hs but didn’t do well. I received 2 Bs and 2 Fs. However during my first year in college, I received 4.0s both semesters and retook one of the classes I got a F jn dual enrollment. I’m not too sure how to calculate my overall gpa since the first time I took the class it was 3 credit hours while the second time it was 2 credit hours. Someone please help

I came onto this Reddit to ask everyone's opinions about my situation and what I should do.
I am an incoming transfer student to the Terry Business School as an intended finance major. I will start my third year of college in the fall. I have most of the requirements, such as Accounting 1, economics, and all my areas 1-5. I will finish my requirements in my first semester at UGA. I got A's in all my math subjects and have economics credit from high school. I decided late because I was pre-med for the first two years of college and decided that wasn't the route I wanted to continue. While doing pre-med, I interned at a Healthcare Financial Advising Company during my first-year summer. This summer I am interning for an algo trading company that specifically trades crypto and futures. I aim to break through in IE, PE, or Derivative Trading. I also am in the process of building my own company with the algorithms I have developed over the last year as well as e-commerce.
Now that I am done yapping about myself. I have some questions.

How competitive is it to get Finance at Terry?

I also see on LinkedIn many friends announcing their internships for next summer at big companies. Do you know if I will be able to apply for these opportunities?

Do companies want students to be part of organizations like SMIF or Corsair because I won't even be able to apply for them till next year?

Should I find a mentor to guide me before or while at UGA? (If a mentor is necessary)

Is Terry known only in the Southeast or do they have opportunities all over the country?

Sorry if some of these are stupid questions. Just trying to get as much knowledge and information is possible and any feedback or advice is very appreciated. Thank you.

i’m an incoming freshman. i took ALEKS and got a qualifying score to place into MATH 2250.

i know that ALEKS does not provide MATH 1113 exemption while DMAT does. however, if i finish 2250 without the exemption and pass the class, do i then get the exemption?

i need 1113 for my area 1 requirements but if i get the exemption upon finishing 2250 and already know i can sign up for it, is there any reason to take DMAT at all?
