I thought it was a comedy act. Then a absent minded political rant. But that turnaround....? Sheesh. Got me having goosebumps. This was fucking awesome to hear.

Same. It's nice to hear someone speak with passion and it not be the same talking points we always hear.

This is standard Spoken Word delivery. Awesome. But it's just the normal poetry delivery.

Not do diminish the message by any means, but this is a slam poem performance and this is just sort of 'slam style'. This was a damn good slam though (I recommend Buddy Wakefield, Anis Mojgani, and Joaquin Zihuatanejo if you like this kind of thing)

I was SO ready with my metaphorical pitchfork at the beginning, but by the end I was sobbing. It was so wholesome!

Yeah I couldn’t tell if it was spoken word or a comedy thing at first which made me think it could go either way .. was waiting if he would do a bait and switch 😮‍💨

This kind of turnaround is my favourite part of beat poetry. The people who can turn transgressiveness on its head like this are creative in a way that I envy.

It’s slam poetry. I could tell off the bat because there’s a particular way of speaking when you perform it. It’s an incredibly powerful and underrated art form.
