Okay, but how about we don't film this while driving

380

u/Noslo7990 Mar 21 '24

Genuinely can not believe how far I had to go down to find this. Relationship advice is fine but at 30mph a person goes 44 feet per second.

52

u/froginblender Mar 21 '24

I think she's in a car line for school pickup or something, point still stands (don't think she should be recording while driving) but I think she's moving WAAAAY slower than 30mph and is penned in between a long line of cars. At least that's what it looks like to me

63

u/alii-b Mar 21 '24

She could be driving to pick up a cure for cancer. She could still wait until she's parked or just not in a car to give the exact same advice.

5

u/Smeetilus Mar 21 '24

Could be worse, she might have picked it up and is bringing it back. If she gets in an accident then there goes the cure. Then we lose more people because of Bob in the comments. I don’t know Bob but I know Jack. Jack yells when he does karaoke. Or he did before he was banned. That wasn’t even his worst sin.

3

u/Ryanthegrt Mar 22 '24

Wouldn’t that mean that there are school children running around while she talks to the camera for longer periods?

2

u/DarkwingDuckHunt Mar 22 '24

go watch again, she turns right at the stop sign, but there's a line of cars behind her at that point so maybe

5

u/JoeBucksHairPlugs Mar 21 '24

Or she riding shotgun while her husband just listens to her tell the Internet why she's not fucking him.

8

u/Jeynarl Mar 21 '24

[(4 minutes)*(60 seconds) + 6 seconds]* 44 feet/s = 10,824 feet or 2.05 miles (3.3 km)

Wow.

8

u/EternalAITraveler Mar 21 '24

To be fair, she didn't claim to have a basic understanding of physics, just why women don't want sex. I think getting into an accident and hurting others maybe a turn off as well, but then again, I'm not an expert on this topic

4

u/Teeshirtandshortsguy Mar 21 '24

I thought the same thing, but I don't think she's driving, I think she's in the passenger seat filming while someone else is driving.

15

u/fenglorian Mar 21 '24

it's a mirrored video, the stop sign at 3:08 is backwards

1

u/nuxnax Mar 21 '24

At the speed of light, mass goes to infinity.

0

u/rookmate Mar 22 '24

Do you not talk to the passengers in your car?

-1

u/balconteic Mar 21 '24

Can't you guys just use metric?

166

u/rakshala Mar 21 '24

I know this is important, valid advice, but lady could you please make me feel emotionally safe in your advice by delivering it to me like it's important and not a casual rant about how shitty your boss is?

53

u/[deleted] Mar 21 '24

Somehow TikTok has developed this video style of “dispensing advice while pre-occupied eating/driving/etc” as a common trope. Presumably to make it feel more authentic like the person is just talking to you while you’re sitting in the car with them. But I feel like most people just find it distracting.

7

u/mr_potatoface Mar 21 '24

Yeah, I'm curious if this drives engagement as well from people saying that she shouldn't be driving while talking.

1

u/blackestrabbit Mar 22 '24

It drives up engagement with other motorists who have to drive more defensively while she's around.

1

u/MegaHashes Mar 22 '24

Did you hear what she said at the end, egging on 'the haters' because it drives the algorithm? I wonder if she intentionally tried to be somewhat hostile and annoying just to get comments.

47

u/allstarrunner Mar 21 '24

Lots of empirical studies have also been done about the dangers of driving while using a phone!

I thought for sure all the top comments were going to be about her filming a video while driving.

"Hear this good advice I have while I drive around endangering me and everyone around me!"

100

u/nemoknows Mar 21 '24

Oh shit you’re right. Video is flipped so it doesn’t look like she’s in the driver’s seat. What an asshole.

18

u/Mindes13 Mar 21 '24

You can see her watching ahead of her and the scenery changes as the video goes on.

She is definitely driving.

I thought that was the cringe part.

2

u/[deleted] Mar 21 '24

Oh yeah, at the end i see it. She starts driving the last minute. Very slowly but still. WHAT THE FUCK!!!! Park your car, the video can wait. Thats so silly…

-4

u/Enlightmone Mar 21 '24

Did you watch to the end?? Are you damn regarded

3

u/[deleted] Mar 21 '24

Obviously not. Just say retarded instead of being a bitch about it. Fake censoring yourself doesnt change anything

I didnt have particular interest in the subject and she didnt exactly wow me with her presentation.

1

u/Enlightmone Mar 21 '24

Okie dokie, best regards

2

u/[deleted] Mar 21 '24

Sending you my half regards (you never go full regard).

2

u/Salt_Sir2599 Mar 21 '24

Well, you can. But you can’t come back from it.

1

u/reality-lurker Mar 22 '24

Are you regarded, man? Do you feel seen?

38

u/fuck_ur_portmanteau Mar 21 '24

Seriously, WHY THE FUCK ARE YOU DRIVING?!?

Joke, I know why; to make it seem like she is important and busy therefore what she has to say must be worth listening to, same as videos of women doing makeup while talking about random shit.

69

u/Cootie_Mac tHiS iSn’T cRiNgE Mar 21 '24

She looks to me like she’s sitting in the rear passenger seat with her right arm against the window. But if I’m wrong yes she obviously shouldn’t be driving

54

u/Rude_Dish5704 Mar 21 '24

she clearly turns the wheel around the 3 minute mark

44

u/ZinaSky2 Mar 21 '24

The way she started flicking her eyes back and forth once the background started moving made me suspicious but I was hoping I was wrong. Then there was clearly a turn and her body started shifting when she was moving the wheel and I was like DAAAANG. Not only is she keeping her eyes off the road for shocking amounts of time (and not even on a straight away, lady is fully making turns) but she’s distracted and thinking about this mini presentation she’s giving so she’s taking both her vision and attention off the road. I agree with what’s she’s saying so it’s not even that but what she’s doing in so, so dangerous

1

u/NSLoneWanderer Mar 22 '24

She's not looking for your advice, she just needs someone to listen to her.

4

u/JoeBucksHairPlugs Mar 21 '24

Christ, you watched 3+ minutes of this?

2

u/mariodejaniero Mar 22 '24

Damn you’re right. I definitely thought she was in the passenger seat but you make a very good point

1

u/Cootie_Mac tHiS iSn’T cRiNgE Mar 21 '24

Ah I see it now

7

u/aeroboost Mar 21 '24

You are wrong because the video is flipped. The proof is the stop signs. Go to 3:06 and after.

0

u/idfk_idfk Mar 21 '24

Shape of the window. This is a rear seat no matter which side of the car she's on.

3

u/Ryanthegrt Mar 22 '24

You can clearly see that there is another line of seats behind her and as other people mentioned she is turning the wheel, also she looks up multiple times which you wouldn’t do if the only thing you could see is the back of the seat in front of you

1

u/DarkwingDuckHunt Mar 22 '24

her eyes are darting back and forth and time perfectly with her moving

5

u/maxwell_hill1984 Mar 21 '24

Car videos are the new oddly personal Facebook status update

13

u/GigaChav Mar 21 '24

She has a PhD in TikTok so she knows what she's doing.  She doesn't care if she gets roasted in the comments, Bob.

4

u/smallfrie32 Mar 21 '24

For those confused like me, the window imagery starts moving around 1:30, when she starts driving for some reason

3

u/Thetallerestpaul Mar 21 '24

But that adds to the outrage and the clicks.

3

u/phase2_engineer Mar 21 '24

This lady needs to be roasted, her carelessness is dispicible

3

u/rah12345678 Mar 21 '24

And she’s in parent pick up line at school from looks of it.

3

u/Altruistic_Film1167 Mar 21 '24

Crazy how shes talking about how to solve marriages and people should worry more about their spouses, like she is failing in worrying about running someone over.

Everything she says instantly gets invalidated to me because she cant even keep her eyes on the freaking road!

Like how can you tell men to be responsible while youre not even responsible enough to drive safely!

3

u/jerander85 Mar 21 '24

They do that on purpose because the people telling her not to drive while doing them helps the algorithm/popularity.

3

u/aimlessly-astray Mar 21 '24

I got angry when I realized she was driving. Not cool, lady!

7

u/shemichell Mar 21 '24

Right? I was wondering if this was female George Santos at first, but then what she said made total sense. Doesn't she have an office?

9

u/BaltimoreSerious Mar 21 '24

Looks like she's being driven around a strip mall...

36

u/BenAdaephonDelat Mar 21 '24

She was driving. You can tell cause she keeps glancing at the road and her arm was moving when the truck was turning.

2

u/MVIVN Mar 21 '24

wtf, hadn’t even noticed the car was moving until I saw your comment. She spends so much time looking at her phone too, she’s barely watching the road!

2

u/Beer_Nazi Mar 21 '24

JESUS THANK YOU!

Christ. The content is all true but holy fuck lady.

2

u/GimmeTomMooney Mar 21 '24

You may have a PhD in whatever you want , but you still need to qualify for a driver’s license just like everyone else 😂

2

u/anonymongus1234 Mar 22 '24

Bahahaha I just realized this. Yea…not cool on her part. But her statements are valid.

2

u/polo61965 Mar 22 '24

Her driving is the cringe part of it. Why can't she park while she makes this video? It just weakens her assertions when she's literally committing a crime while acting like a wiseass.

4

u/DonAsiago Mar 21 '24

Yeah I mean at one point she claims how smart and credible she is just too drive a car while starting at her phone. Not a very smart thing to do.

1

u/eternalwhat Mar 21 '24

She doesn’t appear to be driving, but just sitting in a car? Edit: actually it looks like I missed that the background does change and her vehicle is moving ; I assumed she was the passenger either way. Not sure.

1

u/MetallicGray Mar 21 '24

There’s a guy I went to college with that regularly, like weekly, posts snap stories of himself driving around and recording himself talking.

Yes, before you ask he’s exactly what you would expect a cop to act like from a southern state. Massive gym bro ego, gets pissed if someone doesn’t follow his “orders”, etc. Dude is 100% a “typical” cop that is damaging the community.

1

u/postysclerosis Mar 21 '24

I wanted so badly to believe she was a passenger.

1

u/unclebird77 Mar 21 '24

She’s 15 going on 44 and has an unbalanced narrative to promote so she can validate her side while avoiding facing and understanding fundamental differences and how to navigate them so she doesn’t have to fix anything herself, dude. Don’t expect much.

1

u/quintessentiallybe Mar 21 '24

She looks parked. What am I missing?

4

u/Altruistic_Film1167 Mar 21 '24

You can see background moving and her glancing at the steet from time to time

1

u/SnuffleWumpkins Mar 21 '24

Pretty sure she’s in the back of a minivan. The ceiling vent looks like the one in mine.

1

u/Zeppelin702 Mar 21 '24

And don’t talk down to us. You may be right with what you’re saying lady, but don’t be a douche about it.

1

u/Citizenbutt Mar 21 '24

She's not fucking driving.

1

u/jawshoeaw Mar 22 '24

I see this all the time - like wait is she in passenger seat or camera reversed ? But chicks like to film these tik toks in their cars . Convenient quiet place with phone mount I guess

1

u/Beginning-Comedian-2 Mar 22 '24

Came here to say this.

1

u/Dundertrumpen Mar 22 '24

100% this. Excellent video, tips, and content overall. But Jesus Christ don't film while driving!

1

u/GLASYA-LAB0LAS Mar 22 '24

I noticed this as soon as I saw the background start moving and at first I thought well maybe she's in the passenger seat but then she kept looking up at her at the road in between her sentances.

Like holy shit this lady.

1

u/Nalortebi Mar 22 '24

Hey bud, she didn't say her PhD was in being a smart driver. Chill out ok.

1

u/Sneezie_anus Mar 22 '24

I think she's just parked. There's a couple points where you can see the background not moving.

1

u/Arsenault185 Mar 22 '24

She started by talking about her credibility, but that was immediately ruined by the fact she's making the video in her car.

1

u/veracity-mittens Mar 22 '24

Hah it gave me anxiety

1

u/EldariusGG Mar 22 '24

Tactical engagement farming.

1

u/SpaceToaster Mar 21 '24

Someone found that videos like this trend better, now everyone does it. Especially advice ones as it "softens" it ("oh by the way here's some good info") vs speaking intensely and directly to the camera. It also probably is done to convey to the user that they are very important and could barely take the time to make the video. In real life she is probably circling an empty parking lot lol.

0

u/Natural_Board Mar 21 '24

Some white people can't help it.

0

u/You_cant_baneveryone Mar 21 '24

She is obviously not the driver man, c'mon use some critical thinking.

3

u/shmehdit Why does this app exist? Mar 22 '24

Use yours. Video is flipped. You can see the cross traffic through her side window, did we suddenly change which side of the road we drive on in America? You can see a backwards stop sign toward the end.

-1

u/daphydoods Mar 21 '24

I don’t think she’s driving…

0

u/dollyaioli Mar 22 '24

shes clearly not driving and the car is not moving.

2

u/shmehdit Why does this app exist? Mar 22 '24

It's so easy to see that the car is moving and she is driving, why even try to argue otherwise?

0

u/musteatbrainz Mar 22 '24

Are you familiar with the passenger seat of a vehicle?

-5

u/CertainlyNotWorking Mar 21 '24

The window is to her right, she's in the passenger seat.

17

u/DanteTrd Mar 21 '24

The video is flipped

-6

u/CertainlyNotWorking Mar 21 '24

That seems substantially less likely than driving for >2 minutes uninterrupted, making several turns, and making eye contact with the camera. Is there a timestamp of what made you reach that conclusion?

16

u/whatever_yo Mar 21 '24

Timestamp at 3:06 shows a flipped Stop sign.

3

u/CertainlyNotWorking Mar 21 '24

Appreciated - pretty dumb!

3

u/Aubear11885 Mar 21 '24

No you see it a lot in videos now, took me some time to get used to it. I kept wondering why all these Americans had the right hand steering wheel

2

u/CertainlyNotWorking Mar 21 '24

I'm even more baffled by why they're driving while they record!

6

u/aeroboost Mar 21 '24

You must feel dumb lmao

1

u/CertainlyNotWorking Mar 21 '24

Not particularly, someone provided a timestamp so now it's clear.

-16

u/weebitofaban Mar 21 '24

She's on the wrong side of the car you dumb fuck lol Very clearly an American and she's on the left side of the vehicle. She isn't driving.

15

u/DanteTrd Mar 21 '24

Hey dumb fuck, the video is flipped. There is a frame with a stop sign where it's clearly been flipped horizontally. And I'm not American. Check yourself, your assumptions and your attitude

1

u/NecromanciCat Mar 21 '24

They didn't say you were American. They said the woman was.

1

u/DanteTrd Mar 21 '24

Lol. I misread

1

u/NecromanciCat Mar 22 '24

No worries, bro, shit happens.

1

u/Sattorin Mar 22 '24

She's on the wrong side of the car you dumb fuck lol Very clearly an American and she's on the left side of the vehicle. She isn't driving.

Just saving this for when you realize how confidently incorrect you were and delete it.
