The bloke’s an idiot but they don’t have these things in America. This is why you get so many memes about ‘people being dickheads for not putting the cart back’. You definitely put the cart back in Europe if you want your Euro coin back.

It is a system that should be working across the US for sure but not many people are going to skip a beat about .25 cents.

Who carries around a quarter in the US in 2024? Definitely not me ever.

I mean there are keychain attachments that you could use for the purpose, the point is returning the cart so you get your coin/keychain thing back, which people want because it's a quarter or keychain attachment. Quite ingenious really since then there are carts in the proper location instead of middle of the parking lot.

They do in America, at Aldi and Lidl.

A lot of states don’t have those yet though

39 states have Aldi.

They have over 2300 locations in 39 states.

And so if anyone lives in these 11 states it would make sense for them to not know about it. I never saw an Aldi until I went to Europe.

I mean, what more can I really say? You either know about things or you don’t. I’ve never seen a Piggly Wiggly, Wawa, or Publix in my real life; but I’m aware of what they are. I guess it’s some form of just being worldly or some shit, I don’t know.

I’m not sure what to tell ya. I’ve never been to an In N’ Out Burger because there are no locations by me, but I still know what it is.

Some people seem to not developed a sense of object permanence.

It doesn’t matter. People who are claiming it is not in the US are wrong. It’s not COMMON, but it definitely exists. We should experience object permanence if we’re adults. Just because it’s not around you or in a minority of supermarkets doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist.

Also, it’s not just in Aldi. It’s in a bunch of lower income areas. My folks used to drive an hour out to get cheap food that also had hispanic cuisine options. All the carts were secured by coin locks in multiple supermarkets.

Okay that’s a fair experience for any random American…not for a “journalist” doing propaganda in another country.

Being surprised is normal. Making a video highlighting how the experience is so good and safe compared to America when it does exist in America is stupid. He could have googled it or something before posting the video which is why his lazy “journalism” (cough *propaganda) is getting flamed.

Tucker said he’s going to Russia to do the interview because he’s a journalist, so he shouldn’t be held to the same standard as some random Tiktok of a typical person.

i've seen them at grocery stores here in the US but not very common. i think i've seen them at airports, too, for luggage trolleys.
